Gutted you beat me to this, I was just about to post a thread along the same lines!

I know it's getting done to the death and everybody is probably a bit bored of the disucssion about it but I have a genuine question about recent events in the negotiations.
Now let me start by clarifying i'm not an AJ 'fanboy'. Im just a boxing fan, end of. I don't normally like to hear about the splits etc because I dont really care. However, when it starts to put the blockers on a fight it bothers me. In this instance I believe it's 100% fair that AJ gets the lions share for reasons we don't need to go over again.
However, what is this nonsensical 'flat fee' that Hearn has offered Wilder all about? How can you offer a flat fee and make it sound fair? Ok so its 5 times Wilders highest purse, BUT IMO the only reason you're offering a flat fee is because you know the fight is going to do more money than you're letting on. Otherwise, why? Surely a % split is much safer than a flat fee, because if it doesnt do as well as you project then both parties take a hit on their earnings, in the instance of a flat fee if the money didn't do as well as projected then the only side that's going to lose out is AJ.
Hearn is being snakey here IMO. Yes AJ definitely brings the finances to the fight in the main, but this fight also generates more revenue than AJ's fights to date because he's fighting Wilder, simple as that. Play fair Eddie and get the fight made.

Hard to really say, it's not like any promoter breaks it down for everyone. We usually only know the live gate and PPV numbers and as you say Hearn doesn't even release those figures.

But it apparently broke the UK PPV record doing 1.5 mill buys at £19.95, that's about £30 mill right there which would of covered their £15 mill purses.

Then the love gate was reported at £8.5 mill I think.

Wlad usually gets about $7 mill from RTL based on his previous purse bids for fights, so that's another £5 mill.

HBO paid $3 mill or about £2 mill for the Jennings fight, so we can assume Showtime paid a similar amount if not more for a unification fight.

That's a total of £45.5 mill not including endorsements and other overseas TV rights. This is of course all pure speculation. But I think it's possible it does over £50 mill but likely not a lot more. Of course the fighters won't split all of that, maybe 40-50% of that as the TV network, promoters, venue, under card etc will all need to be paid from that.

Don't even bother ... not long ago there was a thread on here where a guy made a similar statement and said how sick he is of this A-side, B-side, money bullshyat. People on here are actually acting like they are managers, trying to negotiate between each other as if they were AJ's and Wilder's handlers. It would be funny if it wasn't sad. And the saddest thing is, some of the people who commented in that exact thread started discussing the split and argued about who should get more. I don't give a fook who gets what, as a fan of the sport I just want to see the best fight the best. Frankly, these topics belong in another subforum. Something like "Pseudo Manager Forum"

Maybe you can tell me cuz nobody else can. What is Wilder worth in regards to this fight, everybody laughing at the offer but nobody is saying what Wilder should be expecting to get?

In determining Wilder's actual value, one must consider the following facts:
    • Anthony Joshua is possibly the biggest name in boxing
    • Moneywise, Joshua-Wilder is the biggest fight in boxing (especially since Golovkin Vs. Clenbuterol is dead)
    • Anthony Joshua can pack 90,000 people into a stadium
    • On his own, Wilder can't draw flies, but w/ Joshua in the equation, it becomes a legitimate superfight (in terms of an event, not actual skill or anything)
I dislike Wilder and hope he gets KTFO, but Team Joshua is definitely ducking w/ that silly offer.

'Wilder deserves more than 12 million'

Ridiculous isn't it! Truth is it's a terrible era & like in football the money is utterly ridiculous! These men don't deserve even close to these figures! My brother serves in the army, has served in Afghanistan, Kosovo etc... He makes about 35,000 a year! Nurses? Firemen? They deserve a ****ing medal every day! Idiots on here genuinely upset that Wilder has ONLY been offered 12 million for 30 minutes work against a 6'7 inch cockney robot! Fuvk me...
