TBH I think the reason they dont want SD for 5May is really simple: he's a freaking dangerous opponent that they'd have to fight for peanuts and there's a genuine risk of losing the belts. Lose the belts, lose the Canelo payday (which frankly I'm over) and the Saunders unification and breaking Hopkins' record.

Derevyanchenko right now is the boozed-up relative crashing the polite dinner party and barfing all over the table. Chemnelo might be laughing (temporarily) but trust me, neither Pednelo nor Saunders want him to beat GGG either. If he does, they also lose out on their big payday and unification and Meatnelo's money will be far smaller facing Sergiy than GGG. At this point SD is almost as dangerous as GGG and he's the sort of fighter that won't fart around with a jab if he catches Clenelo on the ropee; his combination punching is fearsome. Basically, this is one of those "it's not good business right now" decisions which always suck.

 

SD is basically a high risk low reward fight for GGG at this point in time, especially when it looks like he just wants that second big pay day.

 

Can't help that can he. A welter is a welter no matter what way you want to spin it, that was the original issue, fighting lighter fighters was the argument. Of course they are all ATG

 

Derevyanchenko is not ready for Golovkin yet. If El Pollo does not fight or Saunders Golovkin will fight Charlo the cripple beater if he winsn his next fight..............
