I don't know but one could start by listing those with the most notable in-ring accomplishments. Then you factor in their age and what we could speculate about their physical appearance and body upkeep... Throughout history, quite a few legends have technically become trainers at some point (as in, worked a corner as the head trainer) even if not for long and not to much success.
Nacho is my favorite trainer style wise. Anne Wolf would probably eat most trainers alive. Floyd Sr would talk/rhyme all to death.
Nacho is very underrated and should get way more love on the basis of his work with Finito and JMM alone. That said, it’s misleading to list a few of these fighters as diapers to champions because of Nacho. Oscar and Mares come quickly to mind.
I didn't mean he raised every fighter on the list but he did bring up Lopez and Marquez from boys to men and into champions for example. I should have explained better.
Eddie Futch could be a really tough trainer, but if you would listen to him his training paid off for sure. Bowe would never have become champion if not for Futch, in fact, Bowe was lazy, Eddie was not in Bowe's corner in the second Bowe/Golota fight as he was so angry! You see what happened to Bowe when he quit listening to Papa Smurf? Eddie was a great person and trainer, but he could be difficult if you did not listen to him, he was truly one of the greatest trainers in boxing history...............
That’s what I thought, just wanted to make sure. I agree 100% and that’s what I said in my original post. Bottom line, JMM was a bad boy and Finito was a vast bit better than him. Those 2 guys were supreme technicians who clearly owe their development to Nacho. He didn’t just make them champions, he went 2 steps further than that. He made them HOFers AND ATGs at their respective weights. Has Freddie Roach trained anyone from diapers to titles?
