If Charlo wins his next fight Golovkin will fight him, if El Pollo can't fight, or Saunders..................how did Charlo deserve to fight for mandatory? Charlo beat a cripple! Golovkin should fight a cripple, then everyone who claim he is the very best!

There is nothing to defend here. GGG is taking the easy path. He critized Canelo for cherrypicking then does the same.

I have to agree. While Loma can fight on the inside, he can´t really fight going backwards. He often just backtracks with no counters and little punching. This enabled Salido to score points.
Linares is extremely fast, and he often punches with his opponents even if he is getting countered. (Aka make the best of what you've got. If he gets hit, he hits back). Linares can take advantage of backing up Loma and punching with him.

I know he did. But GGG should fight the next best available opponent. After all he was preparing for CLENelo. So Dere should be the next fight, not a JrMW. I was one of many defending GGG on his supposed "unify all belts", for what? He now doesn't want to fight his mando, which he always did before and is willing to pull a CLENelo and hand over his belt.

I think this 5 May date is all about the money right now. There's peanuts left over to pay the fighters with and I suspect that Team Golovkin doesn't have the appetite for fighting a dangerous fighter like SD for the equivalent of a milkshake and a big mac. They should go to SD's management (if they really, truly want the 5 May date) and agree to fight him straight after in a properly promoted bout where both fighters can make money corresponding to their value. Whoever wins the SD/GGG fight is gonna be banged up afterwards, I'm pretty sure of it.

If they insist on the mando defence for 5 May then I very much suspect 5 May is going to be a no-fight. We'll probably get Saunders afterwards and then Canelo, both of which are either unifications or can be fobbed off as such.

Great point. If he's the warrior he says he is, the Canelo pullout would have been a great chance to wipe that mando off his books.

It's not "understandable" for GGG to fight a blown up 154lb who hasn't fought in almost 3 years instead of his mandatory who stated openly that he wanted the fight.

Wait...so fighters don't need 8 weeks to "peak out", but GGG can't fight a guy with a pulse because he doesn't have long enough to prepare due to his age? So short notice is good for Vanes and makes him dangerous, but it's impossible for GGG and an unreasonable request...gotcha.

I actually heard it was 5 years, and that he wasn't a real fighter at all.
