Broner doesn't punch often enough to give openings to his oponnents, and Vargas isn't a swarmer like Maidana.

If someone's getting stopped late, i would rather go with Vargas.

Good thing though you don't need to get stopped to catch a beating: i favor Vargas on points in this fight, hopefully with a few knockdowns.

    Problem solved.

If Maidana couldn't stop him after unloading on him all night, then Jessie Vargas wont either.

Terrible odds. That should be 5/1 at lowest.

I don’t see Broner going down YET.
Sure his personal life is in disarray but when is it not is the question
Broner has really slowed down his output and movement so will he be staggered, likely, and hurt? Absolutely

I respect that you have strong views about the way in which Corrales-Castillo played out.

Something about how boxing corruption just rubs me wrong.

Busted my remote control that night during the second extended count. Luckily I was already raving mad about the first 9 rds of cheating... or I might've aimed it at the television

Were you a big JLC fan at all? It's unusual/interesting to hear someone talking about that fight in a critical light, since it's almost always spoken of in the most highly praiseful terms. Guys complain about the spitting of the mouthpiece here and there, but usually as more of a minor quibble, whereas you seem much more down on the overall events of that night. What bothered you specifically about rounds 1-9?

Just very poorly officiating generally speaking as if Corralles headbutts and elbows and UCs low were cool, but Castillo lands a beltline shot and it's "keep em up" and of course Showtime sells that BULLFECES as round of the century.

Same ppl shat on Wright for letting a fight end after Bute got to his feet call that blatant corruption Castillo Corralles 1 some kind of legendary win.

He was literally down past a 10 CT X 2 and not DQd or even warned for the 2 15 second breaks after the kds

I have to say, I did get weary of the Showtime crew constantly evoking that fight every time some decent back and forth action broke out on one of their main events for the better part of the next decade, the most irksome example of which was Al Bernstein smirching the exhilirating 9th round of Salido-Lopez II with a rhetorical "Can you say Corrales-Castillo?" I mean, I've no issue with commentators observing uncanny similarities when they actually exist, but, otherwise, just let the fights define themselves instead of harshing the vibe with tenuous comparisons. Jheez.

You can get 11/2 on bet365 for a Vargas KO. Will probably get a little better nearer the day when other sports books price it up.

I'm quite happy to play it safer and take the near even money on Vargas to win by any method.

I've never been all that impressed by Vargas outside 1 punch vs Bradley and stopping Sadam Ali

I thought he lost several of his wins and has never struck me as all that special. A sharp boxer who some times has power but nothing leaps out

I know Broner is a hated figure in the sport but I think he is going to disappoint a lot of people on here

i’ve also had a good camp and should be in great shape to watch this fight go the boring distance.

Especially when even the most feeble of objective boxing minds can not be happy with the results.

As such, Corralles crowning achievement is an asterisk pathetically forced down the unwitting casuals throats until it becomes truth.

And great shout on the instance of pathetic pandering.

IB, have you noticed the WBA belt manipulation concerning Davis vs. Cuellar fight?
