Just goes to show you, the notion that GGG was being the most avoided man in boxing was b.s. with all the opponents at 160 they choose vanes martiroysan.

It be hilarious if GGG doesn't get the CA or does and loses

GGG wasn't lying when he said he would fight anyone from 154-168.

    Groan.

Oh well, I wasn't too excited about Golovkin-Canelo II anyway. It was just an okay fight the first time around. The only reason they were fighting again was basically because it was a controversial draw, not because the fight had people demanding to see it again.

Anyway, time to rationalize what is coming.

Truthfully, the level of competition Vanes has faced isn't much different than the level of competition Golovkin has faced.

Both were Olympians. Golovkin medaled, Vanes didn't. Golovkin fought Ouma. Vanes fought Ouma. Golovkin fought Canelo. Vanes fought Lara twice. Golovkin fought Jacobs. Vanes fought Jermell Charlo. Golovkin fought Brook. Vanes fought Andrade. Golovkin fought Lemieux. Vanes fought Willie Nelson. Golovkin fought Monroe Jr. Vanes fought Joe Greene.

The obvious difference is Vanes has lost a number of close decisions and Golovkin hasn't.

Vanes basically fought evenly with Lara in their first meeting and lost officially by two rounds (and a point deduction) in the return. Vanes lost to Charlo officially by one round. He also lost to Andrade officially by a round.

    Nobody expects Vanes to win.

But if Vanes loses the fight by a round or two on the official cards, like he has his other big fights, it'll be considered a wildly successful performance by the underdog.

And, who knows. Sadam Ali got the nod over Cotto. Ya never know.

I don't see that happening, but that's why we keep watching.

It's not THAT bad of a matchup, considering the circumstances. Martirosyan is a tough durable experienced fighter, he's never been a pushover for anyone. We shouldn't blame Golovkin for Canelo's testing positive.

Couldn't find a good Lara 2 recording, watched him vs Charlo, I stand by my prediction.

Cleverly signed to fight Tony Bellew on 5 days notice after Breahmer pulled out. It was so soon Bellew failed the pre weigh in and Clev instead fought Alexi Kuziemski on two days notice. :nusenuse:

Until Cinco de Mayo weekend that is. And my guess is that's one of the reasons he's the opponent.

We could be watching Golovkin Vs. El Pollo, but El Pollo had to cheat! It is El Pollo's fault, Golovkin is taking a fight on May 5th to keep busy, he has ring rust, he likes to fight 4 time per year and Oscar has been trying to destroy his career by keeping him inactive. I am just glad that someone will fight him on short notice. I miss watching Golovkin fight, and I hate El Pollo and Oscar for keeping him inactive for so long!
