Aj/Hearn Wilder offer is BS

Interestingly Hearn said he'd told AJ he will make more money fighting in the States and AJ won't . He also won't go to Russia, so will possibly be stripped.

 

Why dosent AJ want to go to America no more ? He was so excited like a little kid, when he was up and coming about fighting in Vegas...He is gonna suffer a burnout in the UK, 3rd Bland Performance against Povetkin will slowly damage him...He should go to the US to fight Miller.Refresh is needed

 

Parker and his team where stuck in New Zealand making chicken feed. Even a tin pot PPV against Hughie ‘the runner’ Fury was enough to tempt them to come over for a defence. They where desperate to cash out against AJ although Higgins did an excellent promotional job for him.

As for Wilder, despite the picture that Hearn is trying to paint he is not in a desperate position. He’s making 2m + per fight which is mega money in Alabama or wherever he is from. They’re also not going to have issues getting opponents to fight in the Barclays centre unlike Parker who’s based 24 hours away from boxing civilisation.

 

I wonder how much he takes home from that 2 mil once his paid his management team and taxes. Its not great.

Yes but AJ is making £10+ mil plus every fight. Wilder's one and only huge payday is AJ.

 

Alabama is around 40th out of the 50 states in the US interms of the cost of living. Their economy is tiny 1,2m whatever Wilder is taking home per fight that is huge money -the guy is living nicely.

 

Doesn't Wilder want the fight? He has mentioned wanting to fight Joshua in possibly every interview he has had since the Stiverne fight.

Joshua and Hearn have been accused of blocking the fight despite making an offer. Unless one of Wilder's 3 managers sends a counter to Hearn there is only one side blocking the fight. Unless you think Hearn should give up all leverage and keep making offers until he gets a response?

 

I think like in most mega fights, it will happen when it suits both camps. I don’t go along with one is ducking the other type stuff - this is big business not a straightener outside the pub. The only thing I’ve really said on this thread is that some flat fee offer is not going to be accepted and it shouldn’t either unless it’s for a much bigger figure.

Goldenboy tried the same thing for the first Canelo-GGG fight and they got told to do one and ended up giving the percentage deal - something similar will happen with this fight.


Hearn knows this - he also knows its better to wait to generate even more money/interest from the US side that’s why he wanted AJ to fight Miller in the states next. He only changed his tune when AJ started saying why should he travel etc - whether this is a tactic between the two or there not quite on the same page I guess we will find out soon.

Wilders team cannot make an offer as they are not in control of the money. AJ/Hearn have the sky contract which is of course the biggest paymaster at the moment and whilst AJ & Wilder coming together would undoubtedly smash UK PPV records Wilder can’t access it.

They can though try to build on
their momentum in the states and try to get the fight to PPV status which will of course then bring them some more financial muscle to the table.

Pacquiao-Mayweather "marinated" for 6 years until Floyd was satisfied the risk had gone, Alvarez-GGG "marinated" for several years until canelo thought GGG was sufficiantly on the slide.

History is written by the victor, and who is remembered as "the man" this era will be the winner of this fight.

Floyd waited until pac had been sparked by marquez and his power had gone until he fought him, and put up with 6 years of accusations of ducking, being a fraud and a coward but at the end of the Day floyd is remembered as "the man" from that era, not Pac.

Joshua I belive is still tweaking his style and learning, as he is a young pro. Wilder is in his absoloute prime, and as the guy who relies on reflexes and is 4 years older, will start to decline a lot faster than AJ does.

So as much as we don't like it, from a business and legacy standpoint, it makes sense for joshua and hearn to avoid Wilder for the next couple of years until he's on the slide and Joshua hits his absoloute prime.

Don't be at all surprised if this fight happens late 2020 or even later.

Because if I was eddie hearn, I'd avoid it for as long as possible.

Joshua can't make as much money in America, no way. Where would they get 90,000 fans at ringside? No, the money is in UK. You can't do business with a fighter who does not want to fight.....................Wilder claims he wants to fight Joshua so badly, that he will easily knock Joshua out, so why not fight for $12.5 mil, then in the rematch Wilder can make much more, after all, Wilder said it will be an easy knockout, so what's the problem?

 

Wilder gets 2 mil

50% of that is gone in tax

Then he has to pay his 6 managers

Then all his other expenses

If he's taking home 500k a defence he's lucky

39.6% tax. So he’s paying approx £792000 in taxes from £2m. He’s probably coming away with around a £1m.

 

I don’t like to make assumptions as I obviously don’t know you but by your post you seem very naive when it comes to money and economic factors.

For one, it’s widely known that the purse figures lodged with the commissions in the US are not the true figures- even Hearn has admitted that Wilder got more then the 2.1m advertised. And even if he didn’t, as I have tried to explain in previous posts the 1m or whatever he is taking home
to a place like Alabama is a kings ransom. Alabamas economy is probably similar to say a British deadwater City like Hull or Sunderland- the cost of living is tiny compared to London or medium sized cities in the UK.


Also you’ve been listening to Eddie Hearns nonsense to much with this 6 managers stuff. All Haymon is the paymaster/ Lou Dibella is promoter for NY events / Shelly Finkel is his manager. AJs situation is Sky paymaster/ Hearn promoter/ Freddie Cunningham manager/ its basically the same set up.
