If Hearn dropped the Flat Fee condition - What should Wilder take?

    It appears Hearn offered Wilder's side a flat fee equating to 30% with no up/downside depending on revenue. It could be 25%- 35% depending on how the fight does.

    Most observers agree there's no chance Joshua vs Wilder happens with the flat fee.

    So assume Hearn drops the flat fee and instead offers a share. At what number do you think a genuine, acceptable offer has been made and Wilder should accept?

    25% - 3 recognized belts vs 1.

    One brings in all the PPV the other has never sold a single PPV.

    One side is making the offer, the other is crying.

    I think if he can get anything above 35% he should take it. He is confident he is gonna win then that’s a great offer for the first fight.

    The other side needs him too, your actin like an AJ vs Wilder fight wouldn’t be AJs biggest pay day too.

    I don't think he has a prayer at getting above 35% my guess would be that's around or above Joshua's red line. But I agree if he could get above that he definitely should take it.

    Totally guessing here but I think Hearn will offer that, effectively offering a choice between 30% on target earning with flat fee or 25% with chance to earn more if fight exceeds projections. Maybes with a bigger share of us PPV which is the biggest imponderable?

    3 belts - 1 belt equates to 75 - 25

    then adjust for relative commercial value

    maybe wilder is worth 22%, 23% definitely less than 25%

    Believe it or not I believe Wilder If he plays it right will be able to get 40%, what people don’t understand is eventually all roads for AJ leads back to Wilder. Provided both keep winning the fight will happen even if it’s not now, like Mayweather vs Pac or Canelo vs GGG.

    Maybe. It's a risk though. Wilder has fewer years left at the top and he's not earning anything like AJ for the other fights he takes. He's likely to get slower whilst AJ gets better as he gains experience. Meanwhile, he's got a target on his back because every other HW knows that taking his belt unlocks the riches of the world's biggest fight.

    I think its in his interests to get the fight soon. For AJ it's a lot less clear cut.

    True but if either lose then it is all screwed.

    It's about as big as it's going to get right now while they are both unbeaten, I don't believe you can really gamble if you're in Wilders position.

    I believe that’s the only thing he should do. Let’s be honest outside of Ortiz and maybe fury which other HW would you pick against Wilder? I don’t think I could pick any from the current crop.

    It would be his biggest payday, but viewed in terms of risk against reward there may be better options out there for AJ.

    Miller is less of a threat and helps grow the US market
    Povetkin could take care of 2 of his mandatories in one go and may bring Russian money with him
    Whyte 2 / Haye / Bellew? would be big relatively low risk domestic ties. Whyte or Pulev could also tick the IBF mandatory box.
    Fury could top the lot including Wilder.

    AJ could earn £10-15m for each of them and that's probably a conservative figure. Add sponsorship earnings and he could be nearly $100m richer before he next tackles Wilder. Whereas Wilder may be lucky to have cleared a tenth of that in the same time period?
