Yes. Thus, the more-proven part. I should add more durable, also. Whatever Wilder is doing is working for him so far. But again, there isn't a lot of quality on that resume. Ortiz was a start. But an old Ortiz almost finished him, too. And as far as power, it took a fair number of punches to put him down.
I like this game..... So Ortiz is "old" now but before the fight he was a serious test for Wilder.....Wilder walked back to his corner after the Ortiz flurry completely composed, he was never in any danger of getting stopped, on the other hand he hurt Ortiz almost every time he hit him starting from round one. The only reason this went a little is that Ortiz is a skilled /experienced South paw, otherwise it would have been good nite far quicker. According to Wilder he had the flu and thats why he came in way light..........still weathered the storm and man handled Ortiz like he was never handled before, pro or Amateur. In conclusion, if old shot to shid gunshy safety first Grandpa WK can land a right to put AJ down so will Wilder except AJ aint getting up from it or gets finished in the aftermath.........bank on it and it is all due to Wilders top notch power.
Its therefore rather strange that Wilder turned down £12.5 million , [16million dollars ,]Wednesday ,[ 6 times more than his previous best purse,] to fight AJ.He has instead agreed to fight Breazeale in July, whom Joshua blitzed in his 17th fight.Somebody doesn't want this fight and it isn't AJ!
invisibility mask of doom superspeed flight (as in running away fast) oh and BS is his superpower too.
You know and I know that a fight of this magnitude has enormous political obstacles......I highly doubt AJ or Wilder are afraid of each other and are not objecting for a immediate fight. However, stiff azz AJ is a KO waiting to happen, fact, hopefully it does not occur before Wilder gets a hold of him, I repeat, Wilder WILL land his money punch because AJ is way open for it and always was/will be when he is pushed and I am 100% convinced that Wilder stops him mid fight. AJ cannot sustain a high intensity fight over the distance..........Wilder can and will......and is not gassing out like shot to pieces WK...........Wilder is not making the Parker "Silent agreement"......and a fatigued AJ will get laid out by Wilders straight right. Now you probably think I am a Wilder nuthugger....far from it.....he is very flawed but AJ is tailormade for him.
Lots of unnecessary hate against wilder. Perhaps if wilder were British, he would get more respect on these forums. Both povetkin and Ortiz get busted for roids TWICE and people accuse wilder of ducking povetkin and not fighting Ortiz 3 years earlier
I don't hate him and I like fighters who take on challenges ,I don't care where they come from.Wilder isn't afraid of AJ, but his people are refusing to have a dialogue with Hearn. If Wilder is serious about building a legacy he needs to do better than defending against Dominic Breazeale! AJ got £22 million for the Parker fight with 80,000 arses on seats .How many were at the Barclays Centre for the Ortiz defence, and how much did Wilder get for his purse? Wilder needs AJ ,AJ can defend against Povetkin,Miller,Whyte,Garcia ,in China,Nigeria,Wales ,London ,NY.If Wilder's people don't get around the table soon,AJ's mandatory will preclude a unification until the winter and possibly this year.
Wilder hits scarily hard, Joshua still has a great chance of beating him though. I've always thought Wilder lacks confidence, we will soon see if he's willing to face AJ.
Because I respect & value the opinions of folks who have a historical knowledge of the HWs, & most everyone is interested in it & many are open to altering their views with good evidence. You can easily ignore the HW threads, no reason to let them or folks politely sharing knowledge or expressing opinions upset you.
You know who was a fantastic fighter? Sven Ottke. And, let's not forget Brian Nielsen. 64-3, and he beat Grant, Norris, Witherspoon, Holmes, de Leon. Robbed against Tyson and Holyfield though, smh. He is a top 10 HW. Maybe you ought to read in more detail what Povetkin was 'bust' for vs Wilder, whether he actually failed the test and yeah, what a sterois is and whether what Pov tested for actually is a steroid. Wilder 100% ducked Povetkin like a little hoe.
I see him as a hearns type puncher who lacks hearns type technique. He has a chance to lay out any heavyweight ever but lacks the fundamental ability to do it to most.
