he wouldnt have gassed as a 30something man, end of.

There is absolutely no way you can claim a young hopkins gasses, because he never did, in fact the opposite his tank was supreme, as good as joe. SO thats the end of your case.

As we all know, according to Jay Larkin, Hopkins avoided prime Calzaghe back in 2002:

"A teleconference was set up in my office in New York for July 30th, 2002, and on the call was myself, Don King who was in the room, Frank Warren and Bernard Hopkins' lawyer, Arnold Joseph. Along with Arnold was a woman named Linda Carter, who was there on behalf of Bernard. We asked Arnold if Bernard wanted to fight Joe Calzaghe and we asked him how much money would he want if he did. The response we got was $3million and the fight would have to take place in the United States. After a little scratching of the head, we said 'Okay, done.' Frank Warren agreed on the spot, Don King agreed and we agreed so as far as we were concerned all parties were singing off the one hymm sheet. Arnold excused himself with Linda and I can only assume it was to call Bernard. Either that day or the next day, they came with a new demand: $6million, double the sum that had been agreed, the deal blew up.....he had then and still has no desire to fight Joe Calzaghe, that much is pretty clear."

He never got pressured by a volume fighter like Calzaghe who was outlanding him 2 to 1.

    Hopkins was 43, Calzaghe 36.

Hopkins gassed because Calzaghe was too active and quick, he could not fight like he wanted to, and had no stamina related problems after this fight. IF the fight took 8 years before it did, the result would be the same.

Speedy hard to hit boxers that are active almost always beat defensive minded counter punchers, especially if the defensive minded counter puncher doesn't have a lot of power.

certainly throwing way more, I'll give u that, a pace that hopkins could no longer match for sure but would easily handel when young.

so you think a 43 year old calzaghe has the same tank?
no he doesnt, end of your argument. calzaghe won it specifically because of his younger mans tank.

if they were equal, calzaghe has no fitness to rally and even out his ealry losses, and hopkins would have won it.

calzaghe wasnt too quick for hopkins at all, bern had his number for the first 6 rounds.

it was an outstanding tank alone, dont pretend its something else.

If fat Dan said that it doesn't mean much. He gave Hopkins five of the first six rounds, and the 9th

Punch stats. Calzaghe landed more jabs and power punches. 232-127! Calzaghe was also more accurate.

Hopkins on average landed just 10.5 punches per round. Calzaghe on average laded 19.3 per round. There were zero big punches landed, Hopkins struggled late.

When most judges see it by 2 or more points for Calzaghe, but someone says Hopkins by a point, I become suspicious as it looks like those favoring Hopkins know he lost, but give him some of the closer rounds they shouldn't have If you think Hopkins won it, show me the rounds you gave him.

    • Bad Left Hook 117-110 Calzaghe
    • HBO 116-111 Calzaghe
    • Boxing Chronicles 116-111 Calzaghe
    • Telegraph 115-113 Calzaghe

Then why did Hopkins gas and fake a low blow in the 10th to catch a second wind? Do tell.

Older fighters fight at a pace to preserve stamina. They don't like movement and activity for 3 minutes; they prefer to pick their spots. The judge who gave it to Hopkins is a known dunce. You can't use that card.

No Hopkins did not win the first six rounds. Its post-mortem math needed to justify Hopkins winning by a point.

Segundo Mercado rings a bell ? That was a prime Hopkins btw....Hopkins was always in great shape but he was never the non stop activity monster you make him out to be...........the main reason Hopkins made money late is because he used to stink the joint out with his spoiling/clinching/negative fighting......he would never been able to impose his will on Calzaghe, no matter what age he was.

LOL, you have not seen the fight.........it was a draw and Hopkins hit the deck TWICE hard........after that fight he was the pioneer of jab and grab/wrestle/ spoil/fighting negative..........Hopkins had ZERO drawing power until he defused welterweight Trinidad..............btw Hopkins was always a genuine light heavy boiled down to middle.....and , I repeat, beating the two little guys in Trinidad/DHL put him on the map $$$ wise....plus Hopkins was also loudly screaming "Boxing corruption" and ran his mouth on Showtime/HBO attacking "crooked" Promotores ............a guaranteed recipe to collect mediocre pay checks and zero visibility..........once he made money he never made any comments about "Corruption" or "Crooked"........one could call Hopkins a total phoney...
