What Fischer has been told lines up completely with the points I have been making. The Derevyanchenko fight makes much more sense to happen after May 5th when the IBF can actually order the fight and then call a purse bid if need be.

I hope GGG fights Derevyanchenko next, I highly doubt it though, and if there was ever a good opportunity to do so it was now, meaning his next fight. I don't agree that GGG was required to fight on May 5th since it makes no difference and in fact he is probably getting less pay than had he fought in June.

Every single time GGG has had an opportunity to fight a real challenge he's made it difficult or impossible to make the fight happen.

Taking Vanes over his mandatory seems rather suspect and goes against everything he's been hyped up to be.

He's just waiting for another Canelo payday, let's be honest. It's just about money at this stage.

For what it's worth I don't see why he had to stick to May 5 either. If it was me I would have delayed and fought BJS.

I rate Vanes just as high as Derevyachenko... his 3 losses could have gone either way as I said many times, he fought some high quality, he will give ggg a tough fight

Not a duck at all. No time to promote the fight, Golovkin needed a tuneup fight that will sell out and it is sold out!!! He will fight El Pollo, Saunders next if he can get them into the ring..................

    I like honest dialogue.

Its strictly about the money, I do hope he tries to unify though. As a boxing fan it would be nice to see him try to do it, if he doesn't want to unify he should move up and try to pick up another title at 168.

It isn't a duck Derevyanchenko shouldn't be priority at the moment.

After Martirosyan Golovkin should go for Saunders and the last belt. Then a Jacobs rematch, a Canelo rematch or a fight with Murata in Asia so I can't see the Golovkin vs Derevyanchenko fight before 2019

In my opinion the Derevyanchenko fight isn't big enough at the moment the best name on Derevyanchenko's record is old Soliman. I hope Derevyanchenko fight 2 or 3 more times this year vs guys like
Monroe Jr, Korobov, N'Dam N'Jikam, Murata, Andrade, O'Sullivan, Arias or Lemieux

All of a sudden "mandatories" aren't a priority for GGG, all of a sudden.

Why is GGG sticking to May 5th?

Uh, maybe because his training camp aligns with this date?

And uh, MAYBE, JUST MAYBE — I'm probably reaching here — because it's one of the two most marketable dates in boxing?

you would be one of the first who you call Derevyanchenko or Charlo bum too small or too green after Golovkin has knocked them out.

unlike Derevyanchenko or Charlo, Jacobs fights a tough guy in Sulecki.
Charlo fights a guy Sulecki has already ko'ed.

I like Derevyanchenko and Charlo but imo they are missing the key victorys on their records for a Golovkin fight now.

neither camp wanted the fight after knowing hbo wasn't going to put much money into it. no one anywhere even wants Golovkin to fight May 5th except for Golovkin & Abel. feel free to call it whatever you want though.

Not a duck to me .... if I was GGG and was going to fight someone who will be a threat id want more time to prepare properly for that specific individual. He's going to end up fighting Clenello the BIlly Joe Saunders who I think has a hell of a shot at dethroning him.
