Amir Khan will get off the Canvas to beat Greco

Carlos Molina dropped Khan I think you're right. Let's just hope Khan can still get up (he's got a lot of mileage)

 

I know so little about Khans opponant.

 

PLG is lacks the skills, Khan would have to gas or just be totally shot for that to happen.

 

That was Julio Diaz, a really well schooled boxer with good timing and creative skills, who knew how to throw Khan bait and draw him in. Lo Greco lacks those qualities and wouldn't get anywhere near Khan at his best (even as flawed as that is).

Khan has to return as a badly diminished version of his old self for Lo Greco to have success here.

 

Mixed up yeah Molina didn't drop Khan, it was Diaz. Diaz hurt a couple of other top welters too (Thurman if i recall, gave Porter tough fights too).

The bold part is not all true though. Khan is naturally smaller and has been dropped by Euro level fighters. Lo Greco is less skilled but he has experience/willing to take one of Khan's punches to get off his own. Lo Greco came forward guns blazing vs Spence, this is not an easy fight for Khan.

Khan at 154 is unproven Lo Greco is in this fight! I'm rooting for Khan though

 

If Khan ends up on the canvas then cannot seeing him getting off canvas to win, as he will have gone off the game plan, bad things happen to Khan off plan.

 

Greco has no chance.

After a few rounds of Khan BOXING HIS HEAD OFF Greco will start walking forward like Peterson did...but TO LESS EFFECT

Greco's jab is useless...and his footwork is basic at best.

Without Virgin Hunter Khan might be abit more aggressive this fight which will work well.

 

Khan was a skinny lightweight barely out of his teens when he was dropped by the likes of Limond and Gomez. Even as vulnerable as he can be at the higher levels, holding those incidents against him in 2018 is akin to evoking the image of Canelo being rocked by Jose Cotto. Khan's navigated much sterner foes than Willie and Mike without hitting the deck in the last decade.

Lo Greco has the capacity to walk forward and eat shots, reset, then walk forward and eat shots some more. The guys who get Khan in trouble tend to bring a certain level of creativity or intensity to the dance. I'm not sure that I've ever seen a less creative, less intense fighter of his type than Lo Greco in a high-level fight.

The weight is a nonfactor, for me.

But, as I said in another thread, Khan is a speed-dependent, thirty-something fighter who's been out for two years, and whose drive to compete is more than likely on the wane. One cannot be 100% sure he'll be the same fighter upon his return.

Lo Greco himself is banking on that factor;

Physically he's god-gifted, but at this stage once you pass your 30s and you're not mentally right up here, it doesn't matter how gifted you are physically - this isn't going to work out.

He's done great for boxing, he's done great for British boxing, but his time is up. Like I kept saying in the last press conference, it's like 'Streetfighter' the video game, you run out of lives. He's run out of lives and I think he knows that, but athletes they have a tendency to lie to themselves, thinking 'I've got one more.' Sugar Ray Leonard did it, Sugar Ray Robinson did it, [Muhammad] Ali, where they lie: 'No, I've got one more in me'.

I think he should focus more on his health, than worry about his wealth. He's made a lot of money. Be happy, be a family man, enjoy your life. This is my time, absolutely."

Well, to be fair, I expected Lo Greco to give Khan 12 rounds instead of being blown out of the water in a round. In pondering Amir's inactivity and shopwear, none of us gave much thought to where the other guy was at in his career. Phil is crap, but he would've absorbed much more than that at his most robust.
