He’s not a massive guy for the weight and I think the back and forth with Brook was a testament too some of the chinks in his armor. I’m not one to support the triangle theory in boxing but you certainly can’t ignore the type of night GGG would have had if Brook was Charlo.
Charlo is looking better and better with each showing at 160. This was his second fight and he crushed dude. I can see him giving all the guys a tough night. He is the black horse at 160 with the heart of a lion
I'm of the opinion that Golovkin has declined probably 20-30 percent from his peak. In his prime im positive they would have picked a better replacement
Sergey Derevyenchenko I'm sure a few years back GGG would have been like "yeah lets get this mando out of the way"
No one new is running it til GGG retires. It will be interesting to see the new order once he has though. Clemmy will be the man to beat I suspect.
The only man Ive known to fake on his Mandatory #1 contender as a reolacement on TWO WEEKS notice was Lennox taking on Vitali when Kirk Johnson pulled out
I said this in another thread and I’ll say it again.. the MW division will be stagnant just like HW when Wlad was the man.. Instead of the top contenders facing each other they all just fought low level competition until it was their turn to face the man.. when he retires which I believe this is his last yr fighting it will open up again and I think Charlo will be the MAN then.. in a perfect world Jacobs Charlo Saunders Canelo Andrade would fight each other but I doubt it happens
Charlo became the 160 mandatory as soon as he beat a cripple, everyone should fight and beat a cripple so they can become mandatory. Charlo next fought Pee Wee Herman (Centeno) who nobody had every heard of and can't fight at all, his bones are so thin that they look like they might break just from walking!
