He was shook as ****. He has shown to have a weak heart to be honest with you. Centeno landed a great knockout vs Aleem, but he didn't really show a lot of good boxing ability in that bout. He got punked by Julian Williams and lost pretty much every round vs Sulecki before getting stopped.

His Aleem win puts him as like a fringe top 10 MW guy. As far as skills I'd put him around Rosado level. That would actually be an interesting fight.

Centeno looked like a fish out of water in there but you can't blame CHarlo for that.

Nah let's not do this, Charlo scored a very impressive win, yes, he did what he was expected to do but done it in exciting and excellent fashion.

Sure there will be far tougher tests but let's not take a leak over his opponent and try and stain an excellent performance/finish.

No one is discrediting Charlo but assessing Centeno and where he stand in the middleweight landscape.

He was pretty solid. Destroyed Dela Rosa and beat a guy who was coming off his career best win against Khytrov who was hyped up to be one of the next big EE fighters.

He's a Rabchanka level fighter, which means he's useless against top 10 competition.

Centeno Jr. even made JRock look skilled, which is saying something.

He's a fringe contender, and in the 4 champion era, that's good enough for a title shot.

Honest answer..... No. Which is exactly why he was chosen to fight Charlo. Everyone who knew Centeno knew he was going to get KO’d early. He was a classic Al Haymon cherry pick.

He's a thoroughly average fighter skill wise, and not very good, with a top tier A+ KO punch, his left hook/overhand left, its Andy Lee like actually, that is if he can catch you perfectly with it. But most top tier fighters are able to negate that angle fairly easily, so his one trump card is usually off the table.

I never hear of this Centeno until a week before the fight. He looked C class fighter based on the loss.

Some of us were worried he would end up as a chalk outline on the canvas.

Slick hairstyle, not a bad looking lad, his left hook is crispy but unfortunately for him so are his whiskers.

The fact that he couldn't even drop referee Mark Nelson after catching him with a flush sucker punch right hook on the sweet spot says a lot about the level he's at.

Sulecki schooled him and still gets minimal hype on here himself. Tells you about the level Hugo is at. Nothing wrong with being a high level journeyman/fringe contender, and that's pretty much his level.
