Personally, I think they’re too high. Boxing isn’t like other sports; you can’t just judge on numerical stats alone. I have no problem with guys like Boom Boom Mancini and Arturo Gatti being in - though not the best they gave everything they had and thrilled millions of fans. What affect fighters had on fans should be taken into consideration, imho. I think Buster Douglas should be in for his fight with Tyson. On one night, he didn’t just shock boxing fans - he shocked the world! It’s obvious to fans that there are levels to this and no one is going to confuse Douglas with Ali so it’s not like some people would get confused as to who was better.
The biggest issue I have with the HOF is the 5 year waiting after a boxer’s last fight - that’s bull****! What’s the point of making guys like Floyd, Manny, Bernard and Roy wait? Neither they, nor the fans, are honored by this. No good comes from it. And in some cases the fighters are actually harmed. Look at James Toney; he’s barely understandable now and chances are he’s broke. If he fought last year that means he has 4 more years to wait and he might not even have the means to make the trip to his induction, let alone be able to speak.

Just about right to be completely fair, though they've missed some very obvious candidates over the years that certainly deserved to be in from the very beginning.

Also, why limit the amount of fighters that can get in in a certain year? Rules like limiting fighters and making them wait 5 years seem pretty arbitrary and made up by boxing writers on the HOF panel. Maybe there should be some standards for the “writers” who have votes? It’s not like we’re dealing with a bunch of Hemingway’s and Schulberg’s. It’s just guys that used to write for newspapers and now have blogs.

Sadly the HOF has become a bit of a joke
Stallone.... A b movie actor never boxed in his life
    Suliaman ... Say no more
Fighters proven to be EPO abusers inducted Why not induct Resto & Panama ???
Then the same people say fighters like Gatti, Angustus etc, who always gave 100% fought anybody anywhere, anytime, do nut qualify ?? Fighters like these made boxing the great sport it WAS!!!!

I actually don’t have a problem with Sly Stallone being in. He was the brains and face of Rocky, which happened to be one of the most iconic movie franchises in history. He’s done more to promote boxing than most promoters.

All HOF's induct writers and non-competitors. So I'm fine with that, I guess.

In my ideal personal standard of what a HOF is, as in if I were judge and jury, I'd have less boxers in there. But then that would be just my categorizing of their resumes. Ultimately, who cares?

I have a problem when guys like Emmanuel Augustus & Arturo Gatti get rejected & castigated & guys like Stallone & Suliaman get in. Alsp PROVEN EPO abusers like Mosely & rule breakers like Mayweather are welcomed in

    LMAO! I was there.
Fans swooning over the boxers and boxers swooning over Sly.

I'll see if I can find the clip I recorded as he walked on at the Banquet they have on Saturday nights. Fighters walking by, kinda high-five one another...till Rocky, hell they got up out their chairs for him. Joe Cortez raised his hands up, like he just won a fight!

    It was funny as hell before he walked away, came back to the mike and hollered;
    "Hey Yo' Adrian...I did it"

ah hell, ok, I did it too...I joined in..Rock-EE Rock-EE!

Sly is just an honorary inductee. No big deal.

The IBHOF has always had a non-participant section, so Stallone making it in as a screenwriter/actor is okay with me. Budd Schulberg did sports writing but I would guess he was elected in so small part of writing On the Waterfront. And I think the Rocky series did more to make people like boxing than On the Waterfront.

Honest question, what do you mean they don't qualify? Why?

Way, way too low. There are many many fighters (McGuigan, Mancini & Gatti, being notable examples that come to mind). The boxing hall of fame should have standards, which only the best of the best can meet. Clearly, this is not the case

Low in my opinion and sometimes it's a bit of a popularity contest, I think fans do a better job with the "ATG" status (which is more strictly achievement based).
