I agree with above.I box am and run 4.5 miles in 30 mins three times a week plus two shorter 3 mile runs which aren’t timed.

It’s a decent pace but really nothing special for a proffesional athlete. I was a middle distance runner up until about the age of 16 when I stopped completely then decided to run a half marathon 2 years later at the age of 18 with only 3 weeks training beforehand. Managed to finish it in 83 minutes so slightly under the 6.30 mile mark.

The Cobra is an amazing athlete. You could tell but his durability and conditioning. He was always a tough fight for anyone.. More like a nightmare. I wanted to see him against GGG aside form weight difference.

I do not miss the day of humping (more than I weighted at the time), jumping or dumping in the open:azote:

When he was active? That isn't too crazy for a boxer, actually. If now, impressive.

Sprints and hill sprints were key for him.

I do 5 miles on the road in around 32 minutes, and I'd only consider myself a very dedicated runner if compared to someone who doesn't run at all -- I've only ever been an every other morning runner, and was never overly focused on my times so much as getting the work in. Which is to say that Froch's time sounds about right to me, given that he's not any 40 y/o, but a former professional fighter with a taste for keeping fit in his retirement.

How tall and heavy were you. Froch isn't absolutely massive, but it's a fast time for a 180 plus pound guy who isn't solely dedicated to running.

Did a little googling, and he was quoted on this in an article published October 2014, so his retirement wasn't yet confirmed.
