I actually think that due to styles that Povetkin is a far tougher fight for Joshua and Wilder respectively.

Povetkin was clearly beaten by Wladimir but Wladimir held alot and used his weight but Joshua doesnt hold like Wladimir and engages more which I think could create openings.

I would favour Joshua but wouldnt be too shocked if Povetkin caused an upset

I think credit to Joshua for taking another tough fight again. He keeps taking tough fights against top HWs

Yes i certainly give Povetkin a chance. Wlad showed the blueprint to beat the Russian, he clearly doesnt like tall men with long arms and a good jab. Even Price was managing to land his timid jabs with reletive ease. But Price got knocked out and although AJ will be taking all he can from the Wlad Povetkin fight he is not Wladimir Klitchko. The jab is not mastered not by a long shot.

Povetkin will just do what he usually does looking to slip the jab, close the gap and unleash his bombs. Like i say i think Joshua can stick that jab in his face and keep him at his range most of the time but Povetkin will close that gap and he will unleash some bombs, So AJ needs to make sure he is ready for that when it happens. Question is how much damage can Joshua cause when he is keeping the Russian at the end of his jabs and 1-2,s.

Risky fight for Joshua but he is a champ he has his mandatories, hes gotta get through these. But as a big AJ fan this and the Wilder fights are the only ones that really make me nervous.

Povetkin of a few years ago could’ve done it.

Current Povetkin isn’t good enough. Parker and maybe Takam could probably deal with Povetkin too.

I think age is the biggest factor, others will say PEDs, or more precisely, the lack of them.

I agree with alot of that in your assessment.
I think due to styles it could be a tough fight for Joshua. Joshua doesnt hole like Wladimir which I think could offer openings for Povetkin

Hopefully this disgusting, gruesome and INSANE ASTRONOMICAL MISMATCH OF ASTRONOMICAL PROPORTIONS never ever takes place!

This fight is like a big foot vs a mouse inside a cage. That's how much of a mismatch it is.

Povetkin needs to copy Mihai Nistor's style.

Even a faded Povetkin is very dangerous, at the very least he'll be the toughest fight since Wlad for Joshua. Parker didn't have the style to mount much offence due to his lack of counter punching and tendency to box and move rather the dig deep and brawl when struggling.

Povetkin is different he'll bring the fight to Joshua. Joshua's tendency to trade on the inside instead of clinching will make this fight very interesting. Povetkin won't get smothered this time he'll have an opponent who likes to trade in close at times and that will make an entertaining fight if Joshua fights like he usually does.

But against Parker Joshua showed he could change his usual strategy of over powering opponents and box more and that type of fight plan will give Povetkin more issues. He'll have to work harder to get inside and will take more before he can get his own shots off.

Joshua has to be the favourite, I think the new maturity and patience he showed vs Parker will help him. But Povetkin won't be content to sit back and survive should he find himself losing, he'll go all out and go out on his shield.

The uppercut will be key for Joshua and will be Povetkin's undoing. Price and Wlad don't have a meaningful uppercut, but Joshua's best punch is his uppercut and that shot will punish Povetkin when he comes in and Joshua's ability to catch and counter will see Povetkin punished for his aggression. Joshua will break him down and stop him inside 8 rounds.

Anything short of Joshua literally stomping / stepping on Povetkin and literally squashing him like a little ant inside the very first few seconds of the first round should be seen as a failure from Joshua's behalf. Joshua deserves literally no credit for any outcome that could occur in this fight.

That's fine, bigger challenge anyhow. Wilder's just the money fight.

Povetkin will get caught at the end of Aj left hook and straight right, be handled as easy as he did takam but povetkin will get taken out in much worse fashion.

Showcase fight got Aj. Dw is the real problem for every hw including fury.

Saying that I fully believe only Aj could upset dw. I'm sold on dw

    Great post as always!

Povetkin against AJ looks like Ivan Calderon vs Saul Alvarez.

Even guys like Wach will destroy Povetkin quickly since they are so much bigger... Oh wait

This is Povetkin. A rice pudding:

    http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/...exander+Povetkin+Vs+Wladimir+naVM46enu4Rl.jpg

And this is Anthony Joshua. A humongous physical specimen. Almost like a totally different creature / animal altogether:

    http://dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Anthony-Joshua-012.jpg

Anthony Joshua should literally be so ashamed, embarrassed and disgraced to the point where he should consider evaluating his self worth as an individual if Povetkin even gives him 1% difficulty. Or if he has any difficulties in literally squashing an ant like Povetkin in the first few seconds of their fight. After taking into consideration the insane number of astronomical advantages that Joshua holds over Povetkin.

A person who has a firearm and knows how to use it, should NEVER lose in a one on one fight to death against another person who only has a knife with them.

Likewise, a 30 year old adult should never lose in a fight to a 5 year old toddler. This is the kind of mismatch we're dealing with here. Joshua is the 30 year old adult with the firearm whilst Povetkin is like a toddler with astronomically inferior weaponry.

Given Povetkin just took 4.5 million off Wilder for bull**** PED claims I'd be a bit careful in making up PED claims about him.

Now assuming AJ doesn't do a Wilder and set Povetkin up (unsuccessfully it turns out) then yes I give Povetkin a chance..

Not a huge on just due to Povetkin seems to struggle with large guys, he even struggled at time with David Price so I'd like to think AJ is a bit better than Price..
