That is frustrating. Jose Sulamain was vile and yet honored with induction.
I don’t know what to do about PED cheats getting in; on the one hand guys like Toney, Jones and Mosley all got caught but I don’t think they were on gear early in their careers when they established their greatness. OTOH, guys like Manny, JMM, Wlad and Floyd never tested positive but most reasonable, knowledgeable fans are convinced they doped.

the complaining about Stallone cracks me up and is a giveaway that people like to ***** without doing any homework. He wasn't inducted as a fighter, and he's contributed to the sport. Get over it.

The same people are probably the ones that complain that the city of Philadelphia paid to put up a Rocky statue and consider it an injustice they didnt do it for Frazier when, in reality, it was donated by Sly from the movie.

What would your personal standards be?
Should fan appreciation / exciting style be considered?
Should there be a 5 year wait? And if so, why?
I know they have an “Old Timers” section but to me it’s not right to include modern fighters who have 5 more weight classes to fight in, only fight 12 round championship fights and have over 24 hours between weighing in and actually fighting. Not to mention having multiple belts allowing fighters to call themselves “champ” without having to face their biggest challengers.

    To answer your questions:

    1) Very high - only top level ATGs should get in
    2) No, that's essentially irrelevant to their boxing ability and would likely result in some rather mediocre fighters getting inducted. Take Gatti or Mancini, for example.
    3) Yes. Because it allows time for those who make these decisions to assess a fighter's place in history
    4) Addition of more "eras" in which fighters would be assessed against those who have fought under similar rules and conditions makes sense. I agree the shift to 12 round fights is major distinction (one which I greatly opposed at the time, and still oppose - but it exists), as is the weigh-in timing and weight-class hopping.

Gerald Mcclellan should never have gotten in. They just put him because they felt sorry for him for what happened.

He didn't do enough to get in the hall of fame. and his career was cut short unfortunately, it's the equivalent of putting Dmitry Pirog in there.

I think it's a little too easy to get into the HOF, but there are varying factors that make a person worthy. McClellan gave his life, became a vegetable.....................difficult to say. When a medal of honor recipient was awarded the medal, he said that he did not deserve it, that those who did not come back deserved it more than he, as they they paid the ultimate price.............their lives..........................so, it's something to think about...............Gatti Ward gave everything, everyone is still talking about those two warriors...................

You gotta admit though................. Mcellellan.......................... he doesn't deserve to be in the the HOF........... you.... agree? ................................

( why do you use the dots ............................. so much?..................)

Exactly, every year there's a commentator that makes it. I'm not one for this year's Jim Gray.
And everything U said is what they commented on Sly making it in. They being the boxers themselves!
