WBC orders Campbell vs Mendy II

Well as someone coming at this without a domino effect proxy agenda (I don't care who ends up fighting Garcia, not having a desperate urge to see him lose ) I'm glad for Mendy's sake and think he will prove last time was no fluke and he's just flat out better than Campbell, among the more underrated talents out there.

 

If Campbell shows the same level of improvement as his last camp, he wins.

Back on the topic though,I hate with a passion excuses for boxing losses, but having watched almost all of Campbells pro fights and many of his amateur fights, it's clear to me that he genuinely did have an off-night against Mendy, he wasn't himself at all.

 

Comparing Linares and Arevalo?

I don't really rate Campbell that highly, lost clearly in my opinion both times he was genuinely stepped up.

Although he looks about 15 he is actually 30 years old, he isn't a baby, his best win is probably Perez who is TKO'd in 9 and that was after Crolla had KO'd Perez in 5.

I don't think he has very good chin either.

I'd pick Mendy to beat him again and Garcia will knock him out.

 

It was an off-night because Mendy is a bad style for him and better than most people realized before they fought.

You're claiming that Mendy against Arevalo, beats the Campbell who lost to Linares.


If Campbell was more experienced in the Linares fight, hence starting faster, he would've won it.....

 

Campbell still hit the mat in the second round against Linares and didn't really get started until the middle rounds of that fight. Not really an improvement over his performance against Mendy in that regard.

 

I love these Mendy/Linares comparisons.
