Both men are currently contracted to fight in the CW tournament final. They've both stated their desires to move up to HW once that's done. Briedis as well, I believe.

Well of course it was, because he never had to make a contracted weight limit. That doesn't mean he couldn't have boiled himself down, if doing so was in his best interests.

Although given the fact that Wilder at 214 is considered a major player in the division I don't think Tyson would have worried about his lack of size too much.

Interesting...let’s see if they can hang with fury wilder and Joshua.

That'd be nice, but it's never going to happen.

Realistically, I think people just need to get over their prejudice of seeing CW as a HW training ground and start to appreciate it for the superbly competitive division it is. And fans (especially classics fans, who should know better) need to stop labelling CWs moving up to HW as 'small' or 'blown-up', and acknowledge the fact that these are, in many cases, full blown heavyweights as much as Louis, Ali, Liston etc were.

Usyk can obviously hang with Wilder. In fact I think he embarrasses him and beats him with ease, if Wilder is ever stupid/brave enough to take that fight.

Technically yes. But don't you find it a bit unfair that, because of a relatively recent new weight division, fighters who would previously have fought as heavyweights are labelled with the lesser and somewhat meaningless tag of cruiserweight, while smaller fighters like Dempsey and Marciano get to keep their status as 'heavyweight' champions?

At the very least, fans need to up their appreciation of this weight class, and stop seeing it as the poor cousin of the heavyweight division. Cruiserweight needs to stop being a dirty word.

If wilder fury and Joshua were around in 20s and 50s..Dempsey and Marciano would never have been heavyweight champions....

They cantt hang with a 6’8 85” reach very athletic fighter who can move, who has very fast hands. knows how to jab well and who can fight better than anyone on the outside...

Or a 6’6 245lb athletic freak who has immense power in both hands and throws brutal uppercuts and hooks inside, as well as being a very good outside boxer with skills

Or a 6’7 225lb 84” reach Atheltic freak who is a devastating puncher, has a high work rate, fast hands, jabs well, and can take you out at any point in the fight.

    Be realistic!

Wilder knocks Usyk out too much height reach power and athleticism

But here’s the thing...when Joshua knocks wilder out in a unification.... Then usyk has to face Joshua to get the title

No way Usyk beats Joshua. I bet he wants no part of him.

I’ll make a bet with you Usyk vs Joshua..I’ll take Joshua. NAME IT

Cruiseweight will always be a dirty word until one of them proves he can beat a skilled powerful super heavyweight

Why do people keep repeating 214 for wilder as if thats his normal or average weight? He explained in an interview that he was very sick and had a cold/flu. Thats the lowest he weighed and you could tell by his sluggish performance.

Its like taking Alis weight in his pro debut as his average.

I don't care to bet on that fight right now.

I will bet with you that Usyk beats Wilder if they ever fight, however.

He still beat Ortiz at that weight though.

But fair enough. 220's probably more realistic an average.
