Flyweight rankings are now hopeless. Andrew Selby won every round except the first against Cristof Rosales. You have Rosales at 2 and Selby at 10!!!! The fight was 11 months ago. Higa can't make flyweight, Nietes has vacated for the same reason. What started as a great project has turned into a mess. Most divisions now are ruined, you put too much value on titles, YOU NEED TO FORGET that its a trinket and think that it is just a fight, unless 40 people all forgot that Selby beat Rosales. LOTS OF WORLD CHAMPIONS are not good enough to even be in the top 10.
An interesting conundrum at Flyweight this week: #10-ranked Cristofer Rosales scored an upset TKO win over #2-ranked Daigo Higa. However, last May, Rosales lost a decision to #9-ranked Andrew Selby. The board was split between those (including two chairs) who believed that Rosales should remain below Selby at #9 with Higa dropping to #10, and those who believed that Rosales should take #2 with Higa dropping to #3. The latter camp edged it. A few wanted to see Selby advanced to #2 with Rosales and Higa following but while the sentiment is understandable, we don’t re-rank fighters based on a fight that happened two weeks ago, never mind eleven months ago.
Luffcrazy and that statement pretty much sums up how their rankings have deteriorated from very good to very poor in some divisions. A few divisions are still pretty much spot on at the moment but they look more than capable of messing it up their rules are wrong.
And then we begin a conversation that ultimately leads to you promoting your **** ranking system, blah blah.
The selfish part of me is gutted because a rematch is almost certainly gonna happen and I wanted a new champ to be crowned. But it is in keeping with previous convicted drug cheats like Pov and Ortiz
How on earth can these guys view garcia as lineal light welterweight champion. lipinets never fought anyone of note and garcias only fight before that was adrian broner?? Im fairly sure boxrec, ring and pbo dont recognise this either.
The TBRB has just crowned Usyk as their Cruiser champ (obviously), and moved him up from #8 to #4 on their P4P list.
Makes sense Usyk has beaten the number 2, 3 and 4. Anyone having someone else as the best would need taking to a hospital.
Bellew is emeritus. He has power. He will not stop, EVER! Not until he's home, safe. Out of interest, where would the TBR put ol' bomber should he beat Usyk? P4P top 5? Pretty unthinkable.....
