I was kind of disappointed in this fight, but El Pollo caused it to happen as he cheated and quit before the hearing farce....................however, this fight could very well be exciting as long as it lasts! It sure is better than Charlo fighting a cripple and next fighting Pee Wee Herman (Centeno) who's bone structure could give out at any time it's so thin. When will Charlo every fight anyone? He and Jacobs should fight next......................

Vanes raises a good point, he's the same guy Canelo ducked for a while before starting his rivalry with GGG.

Sounds like he still wants to close out that account.

    What a great point!!

Canelo ducked him for Trout, Lara, Cotto, Golovkin.

We wanted GGG-Canelo all this time when we really should have wanted GGG-Martirosyan...

GGG does it again! Adds another defense against who should be the face of boxing Martirosyan.

 Yeah because that's exactly the same time period I'm referring to, IsaL, not the whole 2½ year period from 2011 (when Álvarez captured the WBC title) until 2013 (when he lost it to Mayweather) during most of which Martirosyan was Álvarez's mandatory and screaming for the fight.

Ra's, there's a big difference and you really ought to know that, unless you're just uninformed about the particulars of either case (or laws & prosecution standards just work VERY differently across the Atlantic).

Brähmer had a couple of barroom scuffles. Minor assaults. Our boy Khurtsidze was fingered as the mob's primary enforcer. He broke limbs, possibly murdered for all we know (I believe they're still investigating the full extent all these months later). For him to get a sentence comparable to Brähmer's he would need to either roll over and throw his mob compatriots under the bus (which means he's probably going to get assassinated before he can set foot in the ring again) or he would have to find the most lenient judge in the country because that would be the definition of a slap on the wrist.

Just realized I'm going to miss this fight, after having started to get a tiny bit hyped for it (Vanes is so full of infectious self-belief he is convincing a lot of people he might not be so deserving of 15/1 underdog status...I definitely am not picking him to beat Golovkin but he could put up a much better fight than many expect, and I think especially the whopping majority selling him short and predicting a stoppage could end up with egg on their faces!)

I'd forgotten that I bought my girlfriend tickets for xmas to see Jim Gaffigan on Cinco de Mayo. This was actually before Golovkin vs. Álvarez II was finalized.

    Undercard update:

Ryan "Blue Chip" Martin has an opponent: Roberto The Rifle" Ramírez Uriarte, whose only defeat in the last 5 years was to Abel Ramos.

Still nobody lined up for Jaime Munguia (unless Martirosyan gets injured during camp, I guess :sisi1)

Martirosyan was not the madatrory for Canelo's WBC SWW title. He fought the WBC #1 contender Erislandy Lara for that spot and did not win. Stop with the BS.

You probably also conveniently forgot that in that time frame in 2012 Canelo was scheduled to fight Paul Williams, a much more intriguing fight and fighter, but unfortunately Williams had his career ending accident, then Canelo was scheduled to fight Victor Ortiz, but Josesito broke his jaw, so that fight was a no go as well. The following year he fought Austin Trout who had just beaten Miguel Cotto, and then Floyd Mayweather.
