I'm taking the fight with a pinch of salt as that is what is required with anything involving David Haye.

It's all about Haye and what he has left. Was he unprepared for the first fight due to the injury? Or is he completely over the hill? You just wouldn't know.

Gun to the head I will choose Bellew, based on the assumption Haye is finished.

I watched the first fight again last night, and it is so obvious that Haye was coming into the ring injured, just look at his stance, but even when he was dragging his leg around the ring he was still winning rounds. Only when his achilles snapped completely in the 6th did the fight change, and even then, Haye was still catching Bellew with shots, in fact Bellew almost gassed himself out against a one legged man.

Haye wins this unless he gets injured, he's currently 1/2 with the bookies, which I think is good value.

This is the first thread I think I've ever seen on here where I think almost everyone agrees with everyone!

The achilles torn bud not snapped. Apologies for being pedantic. Tearing it is an awful injury but you can stand and move on it. Snap it and you cannot even stand up.

Bellew did gas, hence why he’s gonna come in lighter. First fight should have been stopped in the 6th/7th. Haye was never going to muster the power in his shots to spark Bellew beyond that point. If that was Bellew on the ropes in the 7th taking them shots, then the ref stops it. I’ve said it before, you shouldn’t have to put someone to sleep for a fight to be stopped.

there is footage of haye walking backstage a couple minutes before the ringwalk and he is limping badly, he was 100% injured going into the fight

And add into that a ruptured a achillies is a nightmare injury, this could very well be the last time we ever see Haye.
However this, strangely, is the ONLY reason this fight sold at all first time, and why the rematch is so intriguing.
Haye would have smashed Bellew way worse than he did Chisora if he was the same fighter, but be in rust, injury, lack of preparation, whatever, he’s not.
That said, Bellew had to hit a man with a snapped achillies another 73256272272 times to even make a dent, so I expect Haye this time to look poor for a round or 2, then flatten Bellew with the first barrage of clean shots he lands.

We might even be lucky enough to see a trilogy............NOT!!!

It seems so obvious that Haye is going to get injured again though.
His body is ****ed. He's always injuring himself. I doubt he can even do much proper training.

Haye's best hope is that Bellew's simarly impaired, which isn't unlikely either.

I think Bellew winning by stoppage is most likely result. But who cares.

Having an impossible time predicting what's going to happen. I'm with the masses; Haye is much, much better but the ability of his body to fight for 12 rounds is absolutely up in the air. I might lean toward Haye just to feel a little contrarian

Much like the noble Twentyman, I too have begun to develop a curios intrigue in this, which I really ought not to

Bellew said before the first fight that Haye's body was a wreck and that would be the factor.
All Haye fans said : "No, he's okay and he's going to kill Bellew".

Bellew wins, and ever since then Haye fans have said "He was obviously injured going in !".
    LOL

Now, the Haye fans are saying "He lost the first one because he was injured ... BUT he's probably okay now, and he's going to kill Bellew!"

    LOL

I really don't see the appeal of the Bellew-Haye fights to make them PPV though ...
    ... I mean, wtf ??

I don't see any signifiance or relevance to this fight or these fighters as current heavyweights. Bellew's completely unexciting and looks average, his abilities, his style, his shape, everything. Haye's still a very decent puncher, I guess, but he's been irrelevant and mostly boring for years. They both talk crap don't even seem to be convinced by their own BS. They just come across as bored drones and are clearly looking to make a load of money with a last fight or two.

I'm not saying it can't be a decent fight. The first fight was decent. But PAY-PER-VIEW EVENT ? How the hell ?

lets get one thing clear Haye WAS injured going into the fight, I accept no other version of events.

So are people actually saying that Bellew & Hearn made comments about Hayes achilles in the week before the fight were just complete lucky guesses. Are we saying that we read nothing into the fact that twice during camp (once literally 2/3 days before the fight) Haye flys out to Germany to so see a doctor that specialises in achilles injuries. During the fight Haye is nowhere near as light on his feet as we expected him to be. And then during the fight low and behold his achilles ruptures. Wow what a mystery !!

I have also still not seen David Haye throw many straight rights in fights or training since his surgery. If Haye is anything like he was (he isnt) then he wins this handidly by KO. Even Bellew admits this that Haye in his prime would beat him. But he isnt, Bellew arguably is.

I see Bellew taking this one again I think. But I dont really care who wins it just hope its an entertaining fight.

Of course. 100% definitely injured. Just watch how he moves in the first round and compare it with any other fight. It is pretty much undeniable he was carrying a leg injury.

The human body is a brilliant thing I honestly believe that for one night only haye will be fully fit and ready and his body will hold up . Any long term career hopes are simply a gamble for haye from here on in But I've got a feeling he's going to be 90% on the night . Don't get me wrong as i don't like these pointless pantomime fights I don't begrudge anyone a payday and fair do's to both men. But please please I'd really like bellew to win convincingly because otherwise a 3rd fight could be in the offing if haye wins
