My understanding is, and anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong, unless Canelo registers with VADA he won't be tested until 21 days before his next fight.

Assuming that is correct, and his next fight is in September, that would make his next test date some time in August.

In the U.S. you can sue anyone for literally any reason
whatsoever. A suit like this will literally go nowhere.

In the interest of the forum as a whole I move that this:

Be understood as a strictly rhetorical question and not to result in an answer which reveals a much suspected but hitherto blissfully unconfirmed truth...

He tested positive twice so he should sue the lab....LMAO
He tested dirty and then pulled out of the fight so seriously I can’t see him having a chance at blaming anyone other than himself

All this is damage control by the WBC, Canelo and GBP. Canelo tested positive, fact. WBC defended Canelo, fact. Canelo was only given a 6 month suspension which ends in September, the second date of the year he fights, so he can fight again. If all this is to protect the image of Canelo and safe face. You have too many people involved to help Canelo because he makes them money so of course you will protect your cash cow. If it were GGG that tested positive none of this would have been done. He would have being labelled a cheater and suspended way more than 6 months.

Canelo is clean all of this stuff was for noting. We missed out on a May 5th fight for tainted meat. GGG should apologize to Canelo.

This confirms the darkest rumours that have been circulating around Alvarez. Apparently the Nevada Commission weren't satisfied with the lab that conducted the initial hair test and they sent it to an independent institution in Reno.

The results came back and were so incendiary that a court case has been ongoing with Golden Boy trying to have the result suppressed. That hearing has just finished and the judge has thrown the attempt out as unconstitutional.

This was the press release that the lab just issued on behalf of the commission:

'Following many weeks of speculation we can confirm that two samples of hair from Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez were submitted to comprehensive testing procedures. After the first sample tested positive we were requested to make a second test on the so called b sample. That result was consistent with the initial a sample result and we can therefore confirm that this man is, indeed, ginger.'

With so much invested in the fighter it's unlikely that this result will go unchallenged. Seasoned observers expect an appeal that may reach the Supreme Court itself. There's precedent in US history to support such an action. In Harford versus Kowalski (1909) it was established that gingers are indeed entitled to be treated as fellow citizens under the US constitution, although obviously this does not extend to voting in elections or serving on juries or in the armed forces.
