Obviously prime Whitaker and Pep would give him a run for his money, and I've never ceased to be impressed by the footage of Gans, how advanced he was for his era. Much as I have disliked Floyd for much of his career, I can't dispute his exceptional defensive skills and dedication, though.

I'd have a tough time saying he's the best outright at it, but he's in the discussion.

Ward was just as evasive but unlike Floyd he was a lot more aggressive. A very underappreciated boxer

True, Ward was on another one who took exceptionally little punishment during his career. A shorter career, thogh, so I'll give Floyd the nod here, I think. But good call.

There was some film of Benny Leonard that came out a few years ago. He was defending his title and he looked like the goods. Everything they said about him, it all looked to be true. Speed, footwork he was hard to catch.

Hard to say, were the offensive fighters he fought as skillful as the best of Pep or Whitaker's opponents? Because that's the real defining point. Anyone can look good against scrubs. Did he fight anyone like say hall of famer Sandy Saddler who had height reach and power advantages over him? Would Canelo and De La Hoya stack up? Could he have handled Chavez the way that Pernell did? I wonder.

Most definitely the most evasive at not wanting to challenge worthy opponents. I just saw last week that he's thinking of taking on another MMA fighter, if the money is right. Cmon Floyd, take on GGG already!

Heh. I wonder if anyone will demand that Golovkin take on men 30 pounds higher than his original weight class, when he's 40?

Going on holiday for two years when a certain weight class got hot defiantly made him the most evasive fighter ever.
