He’s having his first fight of the year in May and you want him to have 3 more in 7 months?

It takes careful planning to fight 4 times a year.

I'm sure that if he fought an actual viable middleweight contender that the IBF would have given him more time. It's not like he will need any rest after fighting a 154 pounder that has a five hundred record in his last few fights.

yes absolutely I’ve heard that so many times without seeing it happen so here’s his chance,if he beats Vanes nice n quick take on Derevchenko and then Saunders or Canelo.

This is a fair decision by the IBF. Derevyanchenko has earned his title shot. There is no good reason why he should have to waste any more of his time waiting.

This is a competitive fight, a very good one for boxing fans.

Golovkin has no excuse to avoid it, he's already in shape and Martirosyan will not be an especially tough fight for him, so he won't need long months to recover. GGG has always said he wants to fight four times a year (every three months).

I don't see any problem with this. Heck, he should get another fight in between the two like BJS or Eubank Jr to shake off that ring rust. Guys used to fight ten times a year. Prove you're not a *****. Show 'em what you're made of. Don't be a delicate prima donna fighting once or twice a year. I'm talkin' 'bout getting ruthless. "I'm Sonny Liston. I'm Jack Dempsey. I'm from their cloth!"

**** that. He got a pen. The Brook fight got worked out in a couple of days. There's people who want to fight and people who don't.

Golovkin didn't have time to promote the May fight as El Pollo ruined it for him, either by cheating or if he ate tainted meant he has no excuse for that as he is rich and can get the best organic beef available................Vanes should be a good tuneup fight...............Jacobs needs to fight Charlo, then the winner would create interest in the fight. Instead of fighting a cripple and Pee Wee Herman................

It’s a good decision by the IBF, GGG can either go off and have his big money fight or he can fight for his belt.

Damn Canelo whilst giving GGG a big money fight has really unravelled his career.

I like this move by the IBF. Springing SD as a mando by 5 May was a bit unfair. This gives both GGG and SD time for a proper camp and promotion. Yeah, it's tight, but I believe Golovkin will be better and sharper for the work. The Vanes fight may not be at all the cakewalk that people think it will be. CST80 made some excellent points to the effect that not only is Vanes nobody's cupcake, but that he's stayed in shape.

I would have prefered to see Derevyanchenko vs some other top middlweights (Jacobs, Andrade, Lemieux, Charlo, Murata) first to hype that fight a bit. Tough fight for Golovkin
