Was Joanna overrated or has Rose improved that drastically?

    I can't believe Rose schooled her with her stand-up game. She made Joanna look dumb. I was rooting for Joanna just because of her stand-up experience, her leg kicks netted her 2 rounds, but Rose clearly won 3. I didn't think Rose would outbox Joanna like that.

    Joanna was never an elite striker, not in the sense of her male counterparts, neither of them are so don’t be so surprised.

    No I think it's just a style clash. Like how Connor wasn't really ever able to out strike Diaz because of the solid boxing background.

    JJ is a great fighter as far as WMMA goes and she probably does better against a field of opponents than Rose does, but Rose just has her number.

    Connor outstruck Diaz in both fights rather easy. Clean solid punching.

    I don't think Connor found anything easy about either fights tbh, but different strokes for different folks.

    Yeah he's not as effective at 170. At 155 he has an easy time with Nate though. Clearly proved in the 2nd that he can beat him if he sticks to a gameplan. That said his punches appear to be snappier at 155 and he's also quicker, Diaz himself also would have to cut weight and thus might not be able to take McGregors shots as well. No one at 145-155 has.

    Even the rematch was far from easy imo. The right man won, but it was mega competitive.

    Yeah not saying otherwise. I think it would be easy if a rubber match were to take place at 155.

    I get you now I misread the post.

    The thing I don't get is Nate was never a WW anyways he's always been a LW so I dunno if he'd struggle at the weight or not, but I do know Connor would be stronger at the weight and probably does force a stoppage.

    In response to OP;

    Rose was once again in peak-trim for this fight; blistering combos, sharp defense... walking Joanna down..

    Joanna ain't overrated, Rose is just a pitbull who looked to be channeling A. Silva that night, I look for her to hold a strap for a long time

    Yeah, that's why Connor opted for the floor in the first fight, because he was done on his feet.

    I don't think either would make 155 comfortably anymore, especially Nate.

    At this point now you could be right. I was talking more prime for prime.

    Talk of Nate Vs Alvarez though which would be a great fight.
