These HW's today are just so incredibly massive/huge. Just freaks really.

spot on .my thoughts exactly .Muscles on chins and all that!.wilder can move fast for a full twelve rnds because he is lean .This adds to his danger as most modern HWs start blowing mid fight and have to slow down

For sure the weight thing is getting silly but Wilder for all his technical failings has the height and range and like you say his gas tank is phenomenal

I agree Povs isn't a monster in the vein of Tyson et al, but he's a consistently dangerous fighter to anyone he's in the ring with that can't hump him to death, Joshua included. That doesn't mean he beats Joshua, or that Joshua doesn't end up outclassing him, but a fighter like Povetkin cannot ever be dismissed, because that's the time he KOs your ass.

the NFL has gotten the elite big men for five decades now. that doesn't explain boxing falling off a cliff, talent wise.

he took a swing at bill wennington from behind, and missed by a good foot. shaq was the epitome of a bully. put him in a boxing ring he would have quit like a ***** the first decent opponent he fought. first time they connected.

Thats a big part of it though. I was watching the draft and how many 6`5 250+ lbs were drafted over the first 3 rounds and how many more are there waiting to be drafted, are in college and in high school? Being a fighter takes a special breed and mindset because football is a tough sport to make it in but guys choose that path over boxing. Boxing needs more support across the country so we can start getting this immense amount of talent into the sport.
