Felix Diaz just lost to some Journeyman last night. Diaz' claim to fame is that his fans think he was robbed against Lamont Peterson. Diaz is often claimed to be a top notch fighter as a way to try and prop up Crawdord's extremely thin resume.
I still can't believe people actually though Diaz had a chance against Crawford. Diaz is just too small to compete at welterweight.
Francisco Santana is a top of the line journeyman who usually only loses to the best, there's no shame in losing to him, that being said, he lost to Mahonry Montes last time out, who granted is also a top journeyman, but there's no excuses I can make there, Diaz shouldn't have lost to him, and it does expose Crawford's resume as being overrated, as I've claimed for quite some time. When Josh Taylor gets through knocking Postol's innards out of his rectum, Bud won't have anything but a blown up midget Featherweight to hang his hat on.
Funny that now Mikey Garcia, Broner, Prograis, and others all were no where to be seen at 140 when Crawford was there. Now Crawford goes to 147 and they all want to fight at 140. Weak division or a beast who scared everyone else out of the division. I will go with the latter and expect those above will find a reason to duck Crawford. Mikey and his family have talked about what a fraud Crawford is for years but never got around to putting their signature on a contract. No matter who Crawford beats the haters will always have a "yeah but."
Yeah, but... quite a few are proving to be crap (not necessarily Diaz, Santana's decent), post Bud, and that's not because Bud "ruined" them either. Face it, he has a **** resume, that's being dismantled one at a time.
Crawford’a resume is weak in the context that some people want to make him p4p #1. It’s solid he unified 4 belts impressive albeit in a weak division.
I don't think it harms Bud's resume in the slightest. He beat the two best LW fighters then moved up and beat the two best LWW fighters. Very few in history have done that.
Although I haven't read every post about Crawford on this site, I can't recall many stating Felix was a great win for him. Gamboa and Postal are the names I keep reading about. Crawford is doing what he's supposed to be doing against the level of opposition put in front of him. I'm sure if he whoops Horn in easy fashion, Horn will be reduced to a one trick pony, whose only claim to fame is beating a wash up Pac. If Horn has a few good rounds, Crawford will be an American hype job.
