Would Floyd's fast combos crush Schmeling as he did to Ingo in the rematch ?
Or could the right hand of Max do for him ?

I see Schmeling as being more much dangerous head to head, and I think rather highly of Patterson.

Louis had faster hands, much more powerful combinations than Floyd and max still countered him to death. Max was an elite counterpuncher, very strong, lethal sniper like right hand, very good upper body and head movement, and excellent conditioning.

Floyd wasn’t strong enough to overwhelm max and wasn’t durable enough to survive max. Max would bide his time and eventually land his right hand in rounds 3-4 then begin taking over the fight as Floyd loses his confidence when he can’t put max away early. Max knocks Floyd out in 6-7.

I think Maxes right hand would make the difference in the fight and Max also was smart and could box better than ingo. Floyds speed could be an issue but how long could he stay clear of the bomb. While INGO could wallop like Max IMO Max was a good finisher and better overall fighter than INGO

I lean with Max because of educated right. The question is can Floyd spark Max with speed & power before the Bombs land. Patterson beat guys like Cooper & Archie to the punch before they could hurt him he also recovered vs INGO in fights 2 & 3 but INGO was more flawed defensively than Max

Very debatable. And handspeed can be overrated..even if Louis had the slower or hands, his punches were so much more powerful and accurate than Floyd’s

I’ll take Eddie Futch’s word for it ... he said Mike Tyson had the fastest hands he’d seen since Joe Louis. That includes Ali and Floyd.

It’s easy to dismiss Louis’ hand speed because he had slow feet. But watch and you’ll see.

Louis had great speed of hand, look at the Walcott rematch KO, look at the last combo vs Conn in fight 1, and every punch had power, balance and acuracy even Louis jab was a power jab

Patterson knocks max out, quickly too I believe, i think schmeling is a bit overated on here, his win over joe Louis was a fluke, proved by how one sided their second fight was.

Louis has some of the most underrated handspeed in history. Blindingly fast hands.

I see it as a pretty even fight for a while. Neither man really doing anything to offset the other ,max sticking out his jab whilst Patterson covers up peekaboo style ,frequently throwing his combos at Schmeling but nothing really major happening. Both guys respective of the other. It would be Patterson that breaks through eventually, scoring with his sharp left hooks. And I believe it would be one of those that nails Max ,and causes a kd .A follow up flurry would drop him again and this time Max won't beat the count.
    Patterson WKO round 9

You're dead wrong. Louis was a harder puncher, but Floyd was much faster.
