Just noticed how far Wilder moved away from Ortiz`s punches early on, at times he would end up at the opposite side of the ring which was the reason he couldn`t counter early on, just watched the start of this vid and it reminded me how bad Wilder was in those early rounds yet his fans point to the fact that he was ahead on the scorecards! I s this the most overrated heavyweight title fight performance of all time?

Did you see the logic in what he was saying though? At one point he paused his vid to show how far away Wilder was moving to get away from Ortiz`s punches and his body was half turned and he was more or less running, that`s awful!

No, because nobody with any common sense rates him.

He made too many glaring mistakes though and even if it was a decent outcome fans went way overboard.

And for a guy who makes so many mistakes, he scared the **** out of Povetkin and forced him to use the juice.

If Povetkin off the sauce yet?

I've noticed that about Wilder as well. He's very tentative early on in fights, we saw this vs Szpilka and Washington. He is far more effective when he doesn't try and be cute and counter and just stands his ground and lets his right hand go.

Because of his poor footwork and balance when he tries to box more defensively he often finds himself out of position and off balance after slipping a shot so he has overcome this to some degree by literally running away at times when evading a shot to ensure he is nowhere near his opponent and can't be caught with a follow up shot when out of position. While it minimises his opponents opportunities to take advantage of Wilder's poor positioning it also means he allows his opponents to dictate the fight as he struggles to mount any kind of offense.

Wilder needs to prove himself or pack it in,if he wants to fight cans then he gets no respect what so ever. All time great he will never be without fighting AJ/Fury/Whyte,& his pocket will be light for money.

There are some decent points in the video.

However the answer to the thread title is no, look at boxing history and there are definitely more overrated champions. Quite a lot of people didn't rate Wilder at all and thought the older Ortiz would beat him easily...
