Obviously, they both hit hard, being heavyweights. But who hits harder? I say Wlad's power is more proven, but Wilder has speed to go with his power.
When Wlad really sits down on his punches, he hits harder. But in general and on average, Wilder hits harder. Thing is Wlad never really built his game around power, he built it on technique. The power is a plus. Wilder only has the power which is why he has to rely on it more.
Wilder’s punches, when he lets a big right go, are more full blooded. With Wlad, even though his punches are devastating, there’s still an element of control. For those reasons, I would say Wilder. I’m sure that if Wlad let rip, committing himself to an out of control punch, he could match or beat Wilder’s power.
On average Wlad. Wilders windmills' may be hard but if/once he fights anyone decent who isn't a pensioner he will be timed while he is winding up the windmill and sparked out.
Who can theoretically hit harder: Wlad. Who hits harder in real: Wilder. Why? Because Wlad was never trying to built up his game plan on power, he was about his jab, his size advantage, his boxing skills. Wilder HAS to use his power, he has to go all in with his right hands and windmills so he is hitting as hard as he can while Wlad was hitting hard but still in control of his movement and other things...
Wilder. If Wlad threw punches the same way Wilder does i.e. unachored, off balance he would not have anywhere near the same success rate, but then ironically that's what makes Wilder dangerous, the unpredictability.
Probably on a punch bag Wlad..But Wilders come from funny angles and the ones you can't see hurt more.
Probably about the same. Wlad had superior punching technique, but Wilder probably commits more power behind his punches. At this point in time, I think you'd have to give the nod to Wlad who has the far more proven track record.
