Am I the only one who's looking forward to GGG - Vanes?

It’s entertainment. Can’t hate on that aspect. The obvious has already been stated by our esteem colleagues of this wonderful site.

 

Veins is clearly a better replacement opponent than Takam was for Joshua or any of Wilder's late picks. Expecting a surprisingly close fight and looking forward to it too.

Lol @ ppl complaining about this fight as if it's GGG's fault. He's not the roided mexican that ruined this fight.

GGG has no obligation to take anyone on 3 weeks notice. Give him a live body to KO on HBO and let him keep the ring rust from forming.

Vanes will put up a decent fight on pride and guts for 5rds or so before succumbing to the body punishment.

then we wait for the inevitable September Clenelo fight.

 

How you get your money's worth is ultimately by boycotting garbage fights so HBO is forced to actually showcase good ones.

 

I watched a sparring session with Chavez Jr. and Vanes and it was action packed. Every time Chavez loaded up, Vanes came back firing. Vanes is a game guy. I once asked Gene Fullmer what his toughest fight was and he said, " They were all tough". No such thing as this fight is a joke. I hate that expression. Every time you fight, it's tough. GGG is an exceptional fighter who like most fighters, wont be given his just due until he is retired. He figures to stop Vanes but there will be some very good exchanges in this fight. Summary, yes I am looking forward to this fight. GGG is an action fighter and very entertaining to watch.

 

I always like watching GGG. He's a ridiculously tough Kazak with great footwork, jab and power and a great attitude. Sure it's a bit of a mismatch but at least he's active unlike many divas out there.

I'll be tuning in.

 

Yeah but that’s it. He would’ve had the advantage with training and since he’s a stubhub caliber fighter that isn’t a real draw.....

He could’ve set the date back and fought someone more credible. You guys would’ve killed AJ if he did what G did when Pulev pulled out. We all know everyone is held to different standards so this isn’t new.

Golovkin’s growth is already stunted by you guys and your standards and it’s all falling action from here on out anyways so enjoy the fight I guess. Cheap entertainment by a cheap champ.

 

No man, Mosley learned that lesson the hard way vs Mayweather (just one of many examples). You never put in 6 weeks of grueling training camp and then take a month off .... only to have a 4 week camp for later fight. Recipe for disaster for every fighter thats ever done it.

 

It happened to Fury against Klitschko and he still won.

Joshua fought Takam as a sub for Pulev on a weeks notice. Two completely different fighters.

 

Vanes is a good boxer, but the two bugaboos are
the fact that he ain't a MW and the extensive layoff. I just believe
it to be foolhardy to come in against someone the caliber
of Golovkin like this. I can see Vanes giving a good accounting
of himself in a loss but to pick another conclusion, I'd have to
have seen Vanes either active at JMW or at least with a few
fights under his belt at MW.

 

Dumb asses like you who are cheering for this garbage is the reason we keep getting trash fights and mismatches this days..

 

No i am not excited to see GGG fight Bradley skeete at all.
