This whole thread is based on you cherry-picking footage to show Baer's technical weaknesses.

 

Surely not the only boxer to get jabbed in the face too often.

The greatness of Max Baer is that he got jabbed in the face and remained handsome and smiling.

 

So are you completely giving up on the idea that cherry picking is a bad thing?

They would get crucified if they were 1930s fighters.
Look at the hand placement the entire time.
Where is the guard?
Where is the defense?
It looks like they're standing across from each other, hands low, trading punches like rock em sock em robots.

 

I hear there's a new Art Card book coming out. It's called "Impeccable Shrewdness" and it's supposed to be far more extensively researched than the previous Card bio "Perfectly Sound Approach".
The new Card book actually has a chapter called "Better than Farr by far"

 

Vitali dragging that right foot around like gangrene has set in.
