I'm not defending Wilder's team. My point is neither offer was made with the view they'd be accepted and Hearn kicked the process off by revealing a low-baller to the public and via social media. Wilder - albeit ham-fistedly - replied in kind, this time with an unrealistically high offer which is too good to be true. It's foreplay basically, first base financial flirting. God knows when they'll seal the deal but if it's anything like me the fight won't happen for a year....

 

Warren was a very successful and famous promoter at the same age Eddie is now.

Warren, unlike Eddie, did start at the bottom. Started with unlicensed events and circus tent fights. He challenged the old guard in the 1980s and eventually surpassed them.

He's also a straight G.

 

And I’m not defending Hearn, i just cant stand blatant lies like the headline of this thread.

If both sides wanted it, fight wouldve been made by now.

Pretty sure Hearn announced a 'take it or leave it' $12.5m flat fee offer to which Wilder's team responded. That's how I recall all this kicking off.

You recall wrong. Hearn made the offer privately. Wilder’s team made it public. It wasn’t “take it or leave it” either.
