How to beat GGG?

Rather simple and obvious. Any face-first plodder like GGG would find trouble against a slick opponent with good movement. Of course, that slick opponent must have exceptional skills(not necessarily Mayweather or Hopkins quality, but up there nevertheless). Outboxing him is the key.

 

No strategy is just going to "work" against GGG.

That's because his game is so deep and well rounded, and because he himself is such an exceptional athlete.

The guy that beats Golovkin has to be great himself.

There's two basic strategies :

Stick n move.

This has the problem that GGG has great footwork, closes the ring brilliantly and has an excellent jab himself. However, Jacobs had some success flurrying and moving, and Canelo had some success countering with fusilades and then trying to slip the incoming. Jacobs had a size advantage though and Canelo was juiced with that Mexican steak. These two are obviously not up to the task, but the gameplan is there. Somebody rangier and with a better boxing nous like Monzon might get the job done.

Toe-to-toe.

This has the problem that Gennady's chin is incredible and that he hits like a truck. Nevertheless a very gritty Ouma was able to fight him for a long stretch before being broken to bits, and Brook also enjoyed good moments before he was sent to visit Ouma in the hospital. Somebody harder hitting and tougher like Hagler might get the job done.

I don't think Golovkin is vulnerable to anything except greatness and Father Time.

 

When I look at past atg's at the weight like Hagler Hopkins Monzon ect, and break down what they are about style wise and character in a fight, I firmly put him in the mix and not being able to pick a winner amongst the four of them. He has everything in the locker to beat any of them and vice versa. You hit the nail on the head saying his game is deep and well rounded, he's great at a lot of things. Great puncher (in general a great blend of everything), great chin, great footwork/iq in cutting the ring off, an exceptionally talented fighter. This is prime of course

 

Only if that means openly admitting Golovkin’s better and avoiding him until he slows down. Obviously, suddenly upping your own game improves your chances quite a bit too.
Both things combined, he still has a 50/50 chance but the chance of the fight not happening is much greater.

 

This is correct. I support BJS all the way except against GGG, but he's half admitted so to the world in his presser with Eubank Jnr

Absolutely. Great fight and we get an undisputed MW champ out of it, regardless of which Kazakh comes out on top.

 

It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for someone to have what it takes to defeat GGG.

For no man, born from his mother's womb is capable of achieving such a feat.

 

To see how you beat Golovkin just watch the Canelo fight. Particularly in rounds 1-4 how Canelo was just outboxing him, controlling the range, frustrating Golovkin, impeding Golovkin's ability to cut off the ring and land clean punches.

It also helps to create openings when Golovkin gets overaggressive and starts walking into powerful uppercuts like Canelo did in Rounds 6-8. Basically what happened last September is the blueprint for how you take away Golovkin's advantages and light him up with power shots when he starts tiring.

 

All good above...which make me even more frustrated at him , when he fought the chemical clown cayellow, why oh why did he not break him up with bodyshots aka Macklin?? he just did not go there. Please don't say he was worried about being countered , if you look above at the video links posted , in the 2nd one you can see GGG walking through the best that chemical bro could throw & see the look of "Oh ****" on Gingers face.

Great clips, first one he clearly let Canelo punch him a few times, as he did vs Monroe, Wade and Brook, 2nd one was a great uppercut which had 0 effect on Golovkin, maybe put in clips of 500 jabs that hit Canelo that night?

 

Wait for him to age, of course. Or buy a judge or two.

But seriously, if there is a Mike Nunn type, someone with a faster and longer jab with quick feet, he could beat GGG at 36.

lol that's one way to describe it. He "let" Canelo punch him a few times? Monroe, Wade and Brook didn't hit Golovkin in combination like that. The great uppercut had zero affect on Golovkin? Of course not, it didn't cause Golovkin to start grimacing and breathing hard from that point on or anything . . .
