I admire the way he's talked himself into big money fights, time and time again, and his success as a celebrity. I hope he retires in good health now and enjoys the wealth. As a boxer, he's a massive hype job, almost a complete fraud as a heavyweight. He appeals to an ignorant audience who don't really have a clue. Good riddance.
You are right, he must be devastated. But in nature the old silverback gets deposed by the younger faster version, even though it's horrible there is something write about in my opinion. He won't have the crown of hangers on constantly whispering in his ear to fight on. And the fact is he did win, this event was a fantastic success financially and he is his own promoter. And he put on a brave exciting show, so he did win really. Also he avoided the head trauma of a 12 round bashing. He wasn't brutally knocked out, just got the wobbles really. And he's got his own fight promotion, I would not get out the violinis out quite yet.
You have to also question Salas role in this, Money talks yes, but a man of his experience must have known that Haye had little to no chance if that is the best that he could muster up.
Haye had no chance fighting with career ending injuries and has really conned the PPV mugs who keep coming back for more. That is what the general public will remember together with his TOE excuse the last time he flopped on PPV against Wlad before the Bellew fights. Haye has simply conned people talking up both fights knowing that he was finished. As I posted on here before the fight, he sails away into the sunset with his large pile of cash sucked out of the PPV mugs. Eh Day will roger these people time and again with Joshua v Parker type dross and coming soon Shell Brook v Amir Con. Fools and their money easily parted.
Agreed. His leg is clearly ****ed, and is cardio is the level of someone plucked from outside a Wetherspoon's. Salas must have known this and still gone ahead with the whole sorry affair.
A punchers chance then, which equates to slightly more than no chance. He is ****ed, surgeons say so, father time says so, and his first fight performance said so. It didnt take a genius to work that out. Admittedly, I wanted him to win, but only for my dislike of Bellew and all things Matchroom.
What's with all this I love David Haye, I'm gutted and I don't know how long it will take me to get over it bs... He was decent early on but not great, people forget that how the cat exposed his asre years ago, and he will forever be known to me as the count of monte****edtoe. He conned his way to a shot at wlad, and has been conning the vulnerable ever since with PPV bs fights. If he carries on the same chicken nipple kissers will still fall for it and cough up. Just fcuk off now I say.
I've been fairly consistent regarding Haye. I've never begrudged him his success, financially, or his celebrity status. But as a fan of boxing, I tell the truth on how he should be rated as a fighter. He's been horribly overrated based on his mouth and hype. You've consistently sucked his ****, and wanked over him. You're just a cheerleader. And you're proud to be so. That's all good. There is room for all shades of opinions.
I was so disappointed by the whole thing last night. I think mainly because Bellew is such a scumbag who really doesn't deserve to share a ring with Haye. I'm kind of split between admiring Haye for going into a fight being watched by so many people knowing he had no chance of winning, and being pissed off that he conned us again into thinking he was in shape. Seeing the way he moved in the ring was just...weird. I almost couldn't put my finger on it but my brain was telling me that's not how boxers move, and especially not how Haye moves. There's no doubt the two losses have damaged his legacy to a degree, but if he retires now and reveals what he's been dealing with he'll be remembered more for his successes then these last two fights. Having said all that, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him fight again.
British forum has always been overrun with Haye cheerleaders. I can't fathom how he retained any fans after the Klitschko farce and The Toe Show.
If you were conned into thinking he was fit you must really be Kermit the Frog ....... or some other Muppet.
