In fairness i thought ryder was on the way down (mentally more than anything) i thought cox would do him. How wrong i was and I'm genuinely pleased for ryder. Slight controversy with ijl and the count but no complaints here. Get John a euro shot at smw and go from there

Fight was slightly disappointing because of Cox. Was really looking forward to it but Cox seemed to out no thought Into his work and seems to have punch resistance issues. Ryder was superb as mentioned, weird as a small SMW. I thought his tactics shot selection and accuracy wrre gr8. Whilst we await WSBB final would like DeGale v Ryder, and something i would never have thought possible 12 moths ago might well happen, Ryder beating DeGale to win a world title.

The rules states 'within ten seconds' and IJL waved the fight off on the tenth second after cox failed to get to his feet.

Although it looked a little dodgy I think IJL got it spot on this time. If he had counted to 10 and then waived it off then that is 11 seconds.

For me Cox felt the power and quit. There was absolutely nothing controversial about IJLs count.

credit to ryder it's does seem jamie has no heart or he needs to go back to light middle his not good enough for super middle or even middle to give away that much weight to his opponent lol imo

I predicted that Ryder would Ice Cox, but mid to late rounds and not in 2.

The way he took Nielsen out was exceptional with some very clever techniques, and Cox is not a difficult boxer to find so i though it would be another KO win. He just looks tougher mentally now than ever.

He should target Zeuge or De Gale for the title next. On this form he knocks both out. Hearn is looking to make it next fight or the fight afterwards.

Only Groves would be a tough fight for a title for him.

I like Ryder but thought it was a genuine 50/50

Would be happy to see this guy get a shot and a win would be even better.

On current form I think he beats them both too

I got this wrong - I thought the cox who fought Groves was a massively improved fighter and would have too much for Ryder.
Ryder looks better than ever and hope he does get a big fight now.

Ryder is very decent inside and rolls well, cox left his chin up in the air and tried to bully the gorilla, dont think so.

If you would allow my self indulgence, I said a few times that Ryder would beat Cox. I’m a big fan of Ryder. He’s got 4 losses on his CV when it should be 2 imo.
He’s grown into the division, and his inside work is excellent. I’d love him to get a shot at a proper belt, he deserves it.

Cox is all pressure and leaves himself wide open to be countered off the ropes. He's done it in numerous fights just now he's stepped up in competition and they make him pay for it.

I don't think he has much of a boxing brain even though i've heard he does better in sparring vs actual fights. I think it's a mental thing with Cox mostly.

That's just the way he fights.

I think it's because he was facing low-level opposition for so long, and pretty much his whole pro career that he approached his higher level fights (Groves/Ryder) in the same way. Evidently it doesn't work at the higher levels.

Fair play to ryder though, seems a nice guy and is a good fighter, good to see him getting somewhere after the setbacks he has had in his career.
