I'm not a fan of when there's European event + American event in the same day. Usually means 2-3 hours of sleep, especially if there's a good American undercard. The main event usually ends around 8am and I'm not going back to sleep at that time so the only option is to feel like death for the rest of the day. :hang

Golovkin still has the power. Vanes weighed 166 lbs. when he fought Andrade, he knocked Andrade down. Many thought Vanes beat Charlo......................didn't take long for Golovkin to knock Vanes out! Charlo will find that Golovkin is not a cripple, Saunders does not have the power to keep Golovkin off him, Jacobs was almost beaten by an unknown fighter......................Golovkin will knock Jacobs out next time if he wants to...............

Vanes landed 3 hard shots, GGG landed like 40 jabs, but I guess you didn't see that, you ****.

    :coleman:

Damn it, I lost electricity for 6 hours ring after the KO, literally it went off right in the middle of Max and Roy ranting, and I didn't get a chance to gloat. Oh well, better late than never.

Just watched the delayed version of the fight.

    Gennady Golovkin vs Vanes Martirosyan
    R1: 9-10
    R2: Golovkin KO

Vanes looked good in the first round imo, he was way better in but i think GGG was checking what he can expect from Vanes after two years of inactivity so he did less than expected. GGG was completly taking over at the beginning of the second round.

Overall a total missmatch but let's be honest...who would have done better than Vanes? Spike? Munguia? No way.

Not really true. Especially in this fight. Golovkin opened up really fast there. Just Vanes got the better of him in the first.

Did somebody else note Gennady's "weird" uppercut? It reminded me of Vitali Klitschko's unconventional style of doing uppercut punches.

I guess it's something they practiced for the Canelo rematch. In the first fight, Canelo threw 2 kinds of jabs.
He would either step with his jab, which would initiate a combination. Or he wouldn't step with his jab, which is just a disruption jab. In the first fight, Golovkin wouldn't try to counter those jabs, I guess in the rematch, their plan was to counter them, and one of the counters we saw was this uppercut, under Vanes' left arm while he was jabbing.

Yes I did notice the uppercut. Gennady surely learned how effective an uppercut can be when he was getting lit up by them last September and he incorporated them into his repertoire.
