WBC cruiserweight champion. He’s definitely top 10 last decade.

Just seen he wants Ward, Fury or the winner of the WBSS next. Fair play. He is a subscriber to the warrior code.

Err wait and see who he fights on PPV before talking about the warrior code.

Usyk, Gassiev or Wilder then I change my opinion.

He’s fighting a big name. We both know he’s in it for the cash. He needs a dance partner.

A pretty average boxer with big balls and good self promotion skills

He's far from an average boxer. Tony Bellew is world class.

He's not a great boxer technically. But he's in his prime now, uses his experience well and has heavy hands since moving up from light heavyweight. We know he's game too. Very hard to gauge exactly where his level is as Haye was clearly shot. I'd love to see him fight the super 6 winner. And I think he'd do better than expected. Sky could easily turn that into a big money spinner.

His next fight will be his defence of the World Sky PPV Title against a non elite fighter - Hughie 'The Skirt' Fury or Parker for example.

Agree with loads of stuff you post but not this one, mate. Bellew is an excellent technical fighter. He has very good fundamentals and is very savvy.

On a separate note and nowt to do with your post Hattonmad, i’m seeing a few other posters still discrediting Bellew’s wins. The same people who thought Haye would spark him out. He will simply never ever get the credit he deserves. I guess the fact he’s not ripped with muscle and doesn’t talk with a southern accent will always go against him.

It's nothing to do with how he looks or where he comes from, it's how he has conducted himself outside the ring. If Tony was a bit more humble and genuine there no doubt he could be as popular as Ricky Hatton. The truth is he is not a very likeable man. There is no doubt he can box and be quite slick at times, unfortunately he falls short at the very top level. Some people on this forum seem to be judging him through rose tinted spectacles.

He fell short once, at 12 1/2 stone against an elite fighter. If he came up to cruiserweight the result would be reversed imo.

I wasn’t talking for everyone though, although I appreciate i did make a sweeping statement.

I have to admit he has looked very good at cruiser weight but he has not fought anyone who is a legit top ten. Masternak is now looking like his best win closely followed by Cleverly and Makubu (which was his best performance). He doesn't even have a legacy name on his record like a Cunningham, Huck or Adamek. First beat a few guys who are genuine legit top 8 cruisers then we can gauge exactly how good he is. Of course given his very sweet position right now in boxing we probably wont get to see that and it may well be left to here'say exactly how good he could have been at cruiser.

His legacy names will be Makabu and Haye twice bud. He was underdog in all 3 fights. Only after he beat them did the wins get downgraded. It doesn’t really seem to matter what his division is, he is a prize fighter and should go down as an excellent British fighter when he retires.

I understand the points you’re making and they’re legitimate...but two wins over David Haye, that’s impressive.

he beat a no name fighter to win the cw title and got knocked down lol where's that guy now if his so great and then called out every champion at the weight but then fought a trash can and then moved up to cash out but got lucky because haye is completely useless now and who has he really beat the best prime fighters his fought are nathan and stevenson who beat him and that fight with nathan at cw was a joke and just a money maker lol nathan had no chance because his a light heavy and everyone knew that lol
