David Haye, Doctors said he should not fight again! Is this the real answer?

Yes money obviously plays a role for a prizefighter. I also think he saw bellew as a minimzing risk and maximizing profit kind of fight. However I doubt he expected being a shot fighter for those fights.

I doubt that he is broke, he has many buisness intrests outside of the ring.

Haye Day 1 on YouTube remains one of the dullest cards I’ve ever watched in its entirety lol from that moment, I could tell he was only doing this because he needed the money. It was only about how many people he could get to buy along for the ride

Haye is obviously pleased with his SBO check. Which is what this was mostly about for him.

That's what I've been saying all day. The matchroom ref has given Haye wiggle room to continue on. Was on his feet and still throwing, Bellew missing with all his shots at the point of stoppage. This is what Haye will be thinking. It's like in WW1 when Germany surrendered but were never really beaten - in their minds anyway - and Haye will think similar.

Foster obviously didnt want Haye to continue, yes we can say matchroom ref and very friendly with sky sports/matchroom. I knew if any trouble foster would jump in to give Bellew the advantage. Never liked foster.

    Agree.
But we would never consider Rudenko or Hammer a top contender for beating this version of Haye.
And even at B level, performance with those injuries puts him as a huge disadvantage.
Just hoped he could heal and make a dent or give a GENUINE contender a good gateway fight.

Sad that Bellew, a FUN entertaining fighter but not a geniune HW contender, gets this career bump.

I think he covered enough in that message. Given the man it was refreshing how little he spoke about himself to be honest. He spoke well, hopefully he takes some time now and realises that the game is up.

I’ve been thinking about it a lot since yesterday because I’ll be the first to admit he conned me this time. I didn’t spend any money on the fight so it wasn’t that big of a deal but I normally don’t let a fighter’s prefight bull**** trick me the way Haye did this time lol.

From the moment he’s come back, it’s obvious he’s been chasing money and a huge payday. He knew that his huge payday would have a very high chance of it ending with him out cold flat on his back. With the first Bellew fight, he was probably stunned that he could get so much from someone he viewed as such an easy opponent on his way to a true huge payday. When the first fight resulted in him getting dominated, but left questions because of the injury, I think he saw that he could get the huge payday from someone he once had viewed as vastly inferior, but who had gotten the best of him on a bad night. Bellew was probably right in stating that the first fight didn’t humble David in the way that it should have. He still thought he had a very good chance at knocking out the smaller Bellew.

However, I think he firmly believed that there was an equally good chance last night would be that last payday where he would end up KTFO in this fight as well. Its incredibly wreckless and hacky thinking from Haye, but when you hear about his financial situation I guess it makes sense. I guess I can only say I’m glad Bellew took him out now before he got to a level where he was calling out the heavyweight champions and wasting everyone’s time.

Yer got fooled a bit too but thats part of the fun.. Now no doubt Haye is shot to bits and imagine if that was AJ in there.....

Hopefully he retires because it becomes like RJJ where the late career fail becomes more remembered that the prime success..

He will probably go to mma next. Its the retirement circuit for boxers who cant compete anymore.

Either that or start to become a gate keeper of sorts.

I hope he just retires.... become a trainer or commentator or something.

Has to be a way for a guy like Haye to earn money with the sport besides fighting. I know hes a promoter now hopefully that pays off.
