Wish we saw more liver shot KO's. They just look beautiful because it almost takes a second for the boxer on the receiving end to process the pain, and then boom he's down. Who's the best today?

Most dont focus enough on the body.
And a liver shot KO is hard to get. Either you have to wear you opponent down enough to get it or it has to be a shot they dont see coming.
A good example is Khan vs Maidana. Khan almost made it happen. Afterward Maidana was focused on the shot and Khan couldn't quite land it again. And when he did, Maidana was expecting it.

Its a different kind of pain if you dont see it coming.

To be honest most of the top champions go to the body well...

Most of these guys seem to be using the jab to the body and lead right to the plexus alot more also.

You see After Bellew hit Haye to the body he immediately dropped his hands to his sides...

Everytime Khan fights someone who can tough it out they normally are willing to take his headshots but drop their hands to protect from his bodyshots

Maidana, Collazo & Diaz all decided to protect their body's as opposed to heads against Khan. All of these dudes get hurt by them.

Spence is brutal if you high guard him and let him do what he wants. He'll snatch your body.

GGG is just a killer...he can be abit of a head hunter but the moment he sees a free bodyshot he'll slam your ass.

Kovalev killed it with straights to the body

As I said...all of them do it fairly well...

The greatest thing about bodyshots is when your man gets hurt from them it's very very hard to hide that fact. The body language usually changes fairly suddenly, you see it in their face or they go to cover the body. Maybe step back even...

Yeah you can brace shots with a bit of notice. I remember a fighter saying ( forget which one ) I would've knocked him out if he wasn't bracing for every shot, which I thought weird but there is a bit of truth to it

This is why Canelo couldn't KO Hatton. Canelo did a poor job of setting traps and instead just wailed on Hatton. That enabled Hatton to see everything coming and he was able to take the punishment.

He doesn’t do it with body shots, it’s more through high volume of punches and baffling opponents with his footwork.
