Why does he always want to fight people who are retired, or have been out for a while? All this BS regarding Fury and he will knock him out, but at the same time saying he wouldn't face the fury who toppled Wlad because it wouldn't be good for him... Coward. Talk about a man desperate to cash in on weak vulnerable fighters who he would not be fit to lace there boots in their prime or at their best, he should be embarrassed. Fury should take him up on his offer and fight him in his second fight. Would bellew fancy it, probably not... I think Bellew doesn't get enough credit from the boxing fans. He agreed to fight Haye twice as it was the biggest money fights for him. Anyone would have done the same thing. He is also being honest when saying he doesn't want to get in the ring with the top Heavyweights. Again not many people would agree to fight someone if they knew they would lose and get their head knocked off so Bellew is no different. The same goes for the opposite - if someone offered you a load of cash to fight someone who you know you can beat then surely you take it. Good on Bellew on getting his pay days and I wished that he got the recognition he deserves from boxing fans.
He signed to fight Haye because he created a fake beef out of thin air. Pretty much a great excuse not to sign up to the WBSS
The Makabu fight was easy pickings also. Makabu being a small cruiser and very predictable as in every fight he'd sit on the ropes with poor shoulder roll defense looking to counter.
Its easy to say that now but when he fought Makabu, lots of people thought Makabu would win. Fact. Him calling out Fury etc is all hype...people shouldn't take it to seriously.
Its a harsh standpoint but the reality is he would never have fought Haye unless he knew he was shot to pieces. They all knew the state Haye was in and it was a cynical exercise all round, by all involved, including Haye. Its hard to give Bellew massive credit for it, he did the job and thats fair enough but he should have a real fight next time.
Yea he said post fight he’d only fight Fury now cos he’s been out 2 years. Won’t fight his best pal AJ cos he’s too big. Wilder has too much reach according to him. I mean he’s openly admitting to cherry picking. Said he will only fight again if it’s something huge. So that rules Usyk out then. I suppose he may as well retire.
A lot of people did, yeah. He did knock Bellew down. Bellew is just not elite. Nothing wrong with not being elite as he is world class. Knocking out an old, shot to pieces Haye and beating up a small, predictable cruiser for a vacant title doesn't make you elite. I don't like his sheer arrogance and delusion in his wins. He won which is great for him just don't bull**** the fans. The same way Whyte and Hearn bullshitted the fans with his win over an out of shape, clinically obese Browne just to a lesser extent.
You know what man your right, i got believing that the Whyte/Browne fight would be a war and even had a beat on Browne winning! This was the same..i thought a 'fully fit' Haye would Knock out Bellew this time round...got fooled again lol what a dumb arse.
