Yet Jones fought guys like Hopkins Toney Ruiz at HW and Tarver 3 times and Calzaghe but he's scared of GGG. GGG wouldn't even fight light punching Ward FFS but all of the sudden he would have the balls to fight RJJ? Wishful thinking at it's absolute best. I can hear GGG's team now anyone from 168-154 can get it. Hey GGG I'm at 168 ah not you RJJ you're too good.
Roy was a pound for pound business man. He picked where and when. He never fought DM, and was busted on PED's. Hiding a yet to be exposed glass jaw at middle weight, he's not taking GGG's punches to the head or body. No way. Jones is a very light boned guy. Like Brook. GGG might break something. While Jones is faster, GGG's jab and activity would have Jones very gun shy.
Didnt a very average Glen Johnson Ice a Prime Roy? Also Tarver Iced a Prime Roy too. GGG has never been beaten let alone Iced. And the other Brutal KO losses have not helped his legacy either. If you ask this same question in 20 years time when the Roy fan boys have lost their hardons then there will be very different split on who wins this one, trust me.
You realize that GGG his prime was never hurt, stunned, wobbled, knocked down or stopped. You say he's easy to hit, but he only really starting struggling with his defense post Lemiuex. Which makes sense cuz he was approaching 35 by that point.
What the hell is Mr. King of the step aside money then? If GGG was this guy who fights for pride and honor like his fans say he is he would have fought Ward period end of discussion. He also would have fought Derevyanchenko instead of Vanes who hadn't fought for 2 years and had to move up in weight How's GGG's jab going to play a factor when he has T-rex arms when compared to RJJ? I mean do you even think before you type? RJJ could counter the **** out of GGG's jab and still be out of range. I always knew most of you GGG fans only started following boxing when GGG came onto the scene because you never saw a prime RJJ fight. If you did you would realize that GGG would be in too deep with an athletic marvel who would beat the **** and outclass him badly. For the last time if RJJ is as chinny as you say then Toney would have brutally Koed him. RJJ only had chin problems when he came back down from HW to 175. Stop repeating things you've only heard from other people who never even saw a prime Jones and weren't even following boxing back then. He didn't have chin issues until he was shot. I don't know how many times this has to be said.
LMFAO another guy who just started following boxing. Im done with you guys. Learn the sport or log off.
I have been following boxing since I was a boy in 1990. Thats 28 years experience. As you should know, assuming you have similar experience. Much of a fighters chances in H2H match ups and overall rankings change over time. Also for anyone to say they 100% know the outcome of a hypothetical match up, when one guys biggest weakness (chin) matches badly to another guys biggest strength (power like being hit by a truck) is complete BS. We both know you are reaching here because you are letting your hardon for one fighter blind you.
You guys keep saying RJJ hit as hard as GGG. First that's false according to most people. Second even if he did hit harder than GGG it doesn't matter. Only 1 guy will be doing the hurting in this fight. There are levels to their chins here.
DM never left Germany for his entire career thats why. DM did not fight Roy for the same reason Ottka did not fight Calzaghe - they were German house fighters , nothing more. They weren't paid for fame , they were paid to rack up wins against level of opposition that did not matter If Golovkin wouldn't fight Ward , there's not a hope in hell he'd ever fight Jones Jr. https://media.giphy.com/media/9ll4YENyImNOg/giphy.gif See that^ Golovkin is lucky he rode with the blow otherwise it could have been curtains if it landed straight on the chin.. He would not be quick enough to ride with Roys shots and Roy hit a LOT harder than Canelo.
How do you know GGG wouldn't be iced up at 175? That is the weight Roy was stopped against Road man and Magic man. We're talking about MW Roy vs MW GGG. At 175 Golovkin would get his block knocked off by Krusher and Stevenson.
The post has been assuming this is a 160 lb MW match up because GGG has fought his career there and never moved above 160. Now you are assuming it’s a 175lb match up? Stay on topic this is at 160.
He is an intelligent fighter. Yes, he can be strategic and fight defensively when he has to. But he still doesn't possess a defence which would have prevented Roy from tagging him. He's just always there to be hit flush, as evidenced in all of his fights.
