I’d say he’s close. He would have to beat a few contenders and maybe win another title to get in. What say you?
He would have to beat GGG or Canelo at the minimum to even be considered.. or he could move up to SMW and have a run for it to even be possible.. long career but not enough depth or a great win.. (Quillin is a good one)..
I mean...everyone has a chance depending on future wins. That is a strange option. If he managed to go up to CW and clear the division then yeah. If he cleared out multiple weightclasses or stopped Canelo, Golovkin, and Saunders and become undisputed and MW then obviously. These things won't happen though. As it stands, no. He will never be in the HoF.
Its possible re malaka, Has to beat charlo or any other champion first to even consider him getting in there.
How much is admission again? I was there about ten years ago but I'm sure it's higher now. I'm sure Danny could afford the ticket and get into the HOF.
What you say is correct, and you do acknowledge the possibility of future wins, but it's a bit unfair. Guys like Brook, Jacobs, Lemieux, Canelo (yes he won), Murray still have some monster fights in the near future. All it takes is a couple big wins to alter a career. Jacobs - If he faces Canelo and wins, then racks up a couple more MW or SMW wins, he could get in. Canelo - While still a cheater, he will get in. Brook - He will likely pick up a strap at LMW in the near future as the other guys move up. Could see him moving back down to WW and picking up a belt. Lemieux - Def not a HOF candidate, but if his career lasts long enough, I could see him being borderline. Murray - He already should be a 2 weight champ, but there are some robberies in there. If he beats Saunders and defends a few times, he's likely in. I know you know this, but I am just mentioning your statement is pretty harsh especially when some of these guys will certainly pick up some big wins.
I agree, as of now absolutely no. Based on the skills so far to assess future achievement, probably still no.
He's not particularly close at the moment. He has the Quillen win and not much else going for him. A close fight with Golovkin is not a win and it's not enough to build a career on.
