Myth: Boxing is the only sport where 30s era athletes handily beat modern fighters

The evolution is obvious; the two guys in the second video are much more muscular and the video is far more clear - ergo, Brook and Spence are better.

Obviously Bellew would destroy him. There would be plenty of non-boxers who would beat Dempsey up. If somebody showed me video of Dempsey and told me I was fighting him tomorrow I wouldn’t be concerned in the slightest. He was good for his day but today he would be in a different sport and he would get his ass kicked.

The sharpness of the punches, the control, the variation, the defense is clearly superior in the modern day video. And you’re not comparing the same weight class in reality, there is a difference between same day weigh ins and today.
You should be comparing those guys to 135/140 pound fighters today. Then the evolution in everything becomes even more glaringly obvious.

Kell Brook is better than Sugar Ray Leonard? And you're actually happy to go on record saying that? So let's get this crystal clear. In a match-up between Sugar Ray Leonard and Kell Brook, you're picking Brook...

Thanks for that; it's been a tough, long day but a good laugh always helps. You've been dealt_with. Over and out....

Nice straw man. I said the quality of boxing is clearly higher, there are aspects of the sport that have clearly evolved since the days of Leonard-Hearns. In a direct head to head match up you need to take styles and many other variables into account. Brook has better technical ability, is the bigger and stronger man. Ray Leonard is a better natural athlete. I don't know who would win. It's not blatantly obvious like it is comparing someone today to Ray Robinson or Dempsey. From the 80s onwards the sport clearly improved.

Henry Armstrong?! Oh please - he died. If he was really all that good he wouldn’t be dead now, would he? Unlike Adrien Broner who’s still very much alive. Broner is still alive thanks to being a better athlete with far better skills. The crude skilled Homicidal Hank died.

If you think those are arm punches then you're too clueless to analyse anything.

You can’t see those arm punches? Nothing is coming from the ground, he’s just leaning and dragging his feet around. If you can’t see that then I’m not the one with the problem.

You’re telling me you can’t see the difference between these guys and what we have today? Go back to the 90s, have a look at guys like Whitaker, Jones, Toney. Then jump ahead to Lomachenko.

It makes me wonder : How did Mayweather stay unbeaten ?
Not only was he operating as an OLD MAN, he was using a primitive "1990s" skill set
