He still looks great all the way up to Douglas even looking now.

That is how it shook out. Don King had a training camp in Ohio for his stable of heavyweights. There was drugs floating around and then King would steal over half the fight purse from them.
Hell those guys were entitled to a donut.

I meant relative to before Holyfield, Lewis and Bowe came along. He caught Pinklon Tomas, Tubbs, Holmes, and even Spinks well past their best. His knockouts of Carl Williams, Berbick, and Reggie Gross still look damn impressive.

    Great.
The 6th greatest heavyweight of all time.
And the best heavyweight, head to head, of all time.

Holyfield is thee toughest to rate. I like dominant reigns, but Holy is like the Ric Flair of boxing, meaning to never count him out. WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Having tyson as high as #6 is fair depending on who you have at 7-10.

But best h2h? Nonsense, make all the excuses you want but the best h2h wouldnt lose to a 42-1 underdog. He never got off the floor to win, and he never won a rematch. He lost to the best fighters he faced.

Now had you said he was top 5 or even top 3 in the most "dangerous" h2h in his prime because of his skill, power, and speed id agree. He could potentially end nearly any fight at any point, this is true. But based on RESULTS he obviously isnt the goat at anything.

I think he achieved a lot at such a young age then his mentor/father figure died, going to prison...etc... all took his toll. I think mentally he's never really been ''there'' since he got caught up in all the drama fairly early on in his career.

I think you could say he ''burned himself out'' at a younger age whereas other heavies blossomed having a style which aged better. He wasn't a big heavyweight which he became at odds against when he fought the elite level guys. A jab, movement waiting to counter was Mike's kryptonite once he stepped upto the elite level. I think Tyson achieved a lot only to be bettered by Holyfield and Lewis for me. I think he'd beat the Holyfield who just moved up to heavyweight who wasn't the bigger, experienced vet when he fought Tyson.

I think the way Lewis would beat a ''prime'' Tyson is using the David Tua blueprint with some tweaks.

absolutely great.. No doubt. He was not a great competitor. but he was a great fighter. Seems like when he got resistance he did not handle things as well as his offense showed, but great he was.. No doubt. He was not the greatest, but he was not just good.

If you took Floyd Patterson and built like like a tank with an iron chin , would he not be great?

Wasn't Patterson / Paterson an ATG as he was? Tyson / Paterson who made a meal out of Holmes was a true authentic great and legend of boxing.

Great talent, very good resume but not great, never beat an elite HW in their prime and never avenged a loss, H2H I think he loses to most of the top 10/15 HW's, he beats Patterson for sure, Foreman, Bowe are 50/50's and perhaps he would have been too big for Dempsey and Marciano, loses to the rest.
