I have nothing against people who want to be vegan not eating animals n' all but i think it's a bit ''late in the century'' to be overly concerned about eating meat. There's no real evidence red meat causes cancer as it's on the ''probability scale'' taking into account a person's lifestyle...etc... living a sedentary lifestyle, genetic predisposition, smoking/drinking, job environment (working with carcinogenic chemicals),...etc... There's more evidence about obesity, processed meats/foods, nitrates, acrylamide in general than there is about red meat consumption.

The only reason i'd limit milk and red meat generally is down to the hormones/ mammalian estrogen consumption. Even so the amount found in meat is minimal not likely to have a huge affect on a person's health.

I mostly *try* to stick to seafood and vegetables as i'm getting older and eat red meat just not excessively.

Phytoestrogen has no affect on hormone levels as the chemical makeup is different to that of mammalian estrogen. That's a positive for the vegan diet.

I tried the vegan diet for 3 months and i noticed my skin was drier and i felt more tired overall. I've heard many who've had positive effects on a vegan diet so it depends on the person i guess.

The one's i see who mostly promote veganism on social media are religious crackpots, vegan gains cult types, lgbt types, and whacky liberals.

I ain't knocking someone who doesn't want to eat meat as it's entirely their choice just don't try and demean other people who don't want to, or push it down their throats and virtue signal.

I understand vegans who don't want to promote the cruelty of animals but don't go around and feed your cat/dog meat and use leather.

And the way his body fell apart it seems on this occasion he was telling the truth
Hate dining out on them beef curtains cost him
Various types of meat can be costly especially if married

Nobody said a vegan diet would make you immune to injury, however, I think its fair to say Timothy Bradley has had a reasonably successful career being a 5x world champion and at 2 different weights.

Pretty sure Bradley is only Vegan in camp.

All talk aside, no matter what you eat the golden rules are variety, portion control and as clean/natural/unprocessed as possible. Follow this and you cannot go far wrong.

Not sure, but I just checked the interview where he is talking about being vegan, and it was posted 6 years ago.

Yeah I think a read the same one..from fight hype? It's very vague to be honest..looks like he stated when he became world champ. For him though it's seemed the main benefit of it is to made it easier to do the weight?
He said the reason he started is cos a doctor told him gorillas eat veg and look at the size of them which is very niave.

I'm talking about your average Joe in normal everyday life. If you are denying that going vegan has had positive effects on thousands of people then you have your fingers in your ears screaming "NA NANA NA NANA". I say this is a meat eater who is objective and not trying to justify my diet.

It's weird how defensive meat eaters get when someone says they are a vegan. Very strange behaviour. I've noticed the same when I've seen non drinkers tell people that they don't drink.

Although it is much harder to eat organic these days when governments are deliberately poisoning the land as one of their agenda's is to have the vast population crammed into super cities. F*ck you even struggle to pick some blackberries without the worry that the hedge has been sprayed by some chemical sh*te.

Just some random guy on YouTube posted it, but it might well have been from fight hype originally, as it looks like at least two different YouTubers have posted the same video. I just saw another from 7 years ago, again talking about the benefits of a vegan diet.

I think my original point was that it is possible to live healthy and even compete at the highest level whilst on a vegan diet, and Timothy Bradley proves that.

The human digestive system is not designed to break down plant material in contrast to horses, gorillas, elephants etc who can graze all day and extract all the necessary proteins from large volumes of plant material. We can eat plants but won't break it down enough to reach the good stuff. Without semi processing foods (i.e tofu) it's hard for vegans to take on sufficient protein for what's considered a ' normal ' diet.

It needs a LOT of clinical research.

That's where the problem is, because veganism is such a vague term, it would be difficult to make any blanket claims at this stage that veganism is better or worse for you, because there are so many different kinds of vegan diets, some better, some worse. And then on top of this most sportsmen will be taking supplements, and vegans will almost certainly need to as well. And then you have a bunch of other variables that muddy the water further when doing research, such as an athlete's age, skill, training methods etc improving or declining over time. So you'd really need a gigantic amount of research, with samples of tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, while following these people around for years. That's going to be extremely costly.

You wouldn't really expect any vegans to be at the top of any given sport at this stage, simply because there are still so few of them.

So a lot of the evidence, I believe, is still very anecdotal.

I might give it a go myself, just starting by having a couple of vegan days a week, and try and build it up and see how I feel. I only meat about once or twice a week nowadays anyway, I've tried to cut down because as I've got older I've noticed eating meat doesn't make me feel good, but going full on vegan would still be a massive step for me. I don't think it can hurt much anyway to give it a go, and see what happens, see how I feel etc. I need to look into it a lot more myself though first.

I don't think it would have a positive effect on health other than placebo. Ethically you may feel better, If it's something you believe in then it will have a positive mental effect. I don't believe a vegan diet can be more nutritious or beneficial than non vegan purely due to our digestive mechanics.
