Fury also has enough power to KO bellew brutally.

Cleverly and Haye were not forced into those fights....

To be fair to Bellew, he's always said that the most important thing in his career is providing for his family, and doing it safely.....aswell as winning a world title.

All of the above can simply be explained by $$$.

The Cleverly payday was his biggest earner at that time.
The WBC belt fight at Goodison Park was his 'dream' fight....Which he's already said cannot be topped.
The fights with Haye were financially far more rewarding than the WBSS super series.

In fact you'd argue he's a bigger draw as a result of not entering the WBSS, as he goes straight to the top of "Who should the Usyk/Gassiev winner face"?

Yeah, I get the reasoning behind his career moves, I'm just saying most boxers would feel more heat for the choices he made but because he plays the honesty card Bellew doesn't get pulled up for it. He's a legit CW world titlist and should be held to higher standards imo.

Let's see who he fights next. That might sway me... or you?

This. Bellew is good enough to get into the top 10 in every division from 175, cruiserweight, and heavyweight, but will always fall short when it comes to being able to ever beat the top guys.

Bellew vs Whyte next or bringing the Billy Goat up from 175 lbs.

If he beats Ward at heavyweight he'll say he beat a legend and act like it was some big legacy defining win,...etc.. with his sycophant matchroom buddies blowing him up.

He’s living up to the title, prize fighter. If he’s not chasing titles, I don’t suppose it matters who he fights. It is strange to see Bellew in this position though, almost choosing who’s going to have the privilege to take him on; Mayweather Mark ii haha.

    What?

Povetkin is a solid thick 225-230 lbs.
Bellew is a fat 210-215 lbs.

Exactly. Joshua & Wilder hit too hard.

Bellew is honest about it, and that's why people are OK with what he's doing.

Boxers feel the heat when they don't give honest reasonings.

    Like the whole Wilder/Joshua argument.....

Why is Team Joshua only offering 12.5 mil if they want the fight?
Why is Team Wilder not willing to meet if they want the fight?

There's no 'heat' to put on Bellew because he's just telling the truth......

The man even said he wouldn't beat Prime Haye, but would stop this version of Haye....He was right.

Not sure where Tony has got this idea from. Hearn as well. Fury hits plenty hard enough to spark Bellew out.

He's a heavyweight, of course he hits hard.

But their point stands....Is Fury much more powerful than Haye?

    No.

He actually didn't say Wilder was too big, weight-wise, but that he had too much power and reach. Pretty damn honest and refreshing, honestly, even if I don't believe it'd be quite the mismatch he seems to think it is. Regardless, he's made no bones that he's in boxing solely to make money and remain healthy, and he's in a position to achieve that. A cherry picker he might be, but I really don't think he gives a toss.

Personally I think he is a bit of a knob for the way he is going about it..

Calling out Fury but not the "Dusseldorf Fury" isn't really calling him out. If you are not willing to fight the best version of Fury then don't mention his name..

He knows he isn't a heavyweight so he isn't calling out the top guys which is fair enough but call out guys you think you can beat when they are in their best shape..

I think this is a perfect example of UK/US cultural differences tbh.

In the UK, if you talk a lot, the fans demand you back it up.

In the US, the fans seem to prefer a guy who talks with his mouth, rather than his fists.

E.g. Wilder's 'Best HW in History' remark wouldn't go down well with UK fans after having 1 tough opponent in 40 fights.
