    @jmashyaka

    Here are the facts on Ward - Golovkin. I have researched this extensively, and have posted it several times:

    And Ward wanting to fight a gu he already had beaten in Froch, isn't bad?

    Froch is the one who called out Ward but wanted the fight in Notting, Ward didn’t mind it in London but not in Frochs back yard.

    Cool, you raised some good points.

    However a few things dont make sense, did GGG not make a open challenge to the 168 division? if thats a yes, was he willing to fight at 168 for Froch and Chavez? if thats a yes, why was his team asking for the catchweight against Ward to begin with?

    Not sure how that's relevant to the discussion. Froch was the one that started the conversation on the rematch anyway.

    Imagine if Ward agreed to fight Barrera etc at 175 but demanded Kovalev come down to a catchweight. It would be seen as a ***** move and rightfully so.

    Because ward demanded 50/50 even though he is not the draw. GGG counter offered if you want 50/50 even though you are not a draw and GGG would be the one taking the risk of moving up to fight a much larger man... then you can meet me in the middle on weight since you want everything else in your favor.

    It's called consistency. However, the only way your scenario is apt is if, Ward was actively campaigning at 168, called out a cash cow at 175, and offered to fight Kov at 172, all the while insisting he would still fight at 168, after. You see, that's the major difference here.

    3G staying at 160 even after Froch or Chavez jr is a big difference.

    Doesn't change the fact that Ward considered facing a fighter he already beat. And the reason why? Froch could draw.

    Did he really? Or are you taking some flippant comments as if they are gospel?

    Did he say, "I welcome any challenge from any or all SprMWs?" Some of y'all need to taking comments with a grain of salt... instead, too many posters hang on to every word like it's a lifeline...

    Negative. The WBA ordered the rematch.

    The WBA have set the ball rolling on a possible rematch between Carl Froch, 37, and 31-year-old Andre Ward by mandating a fight between the two fighters. The organisation's Championships Committee has told the two parties that they have 30 days to reach an agreement for a fight, which must take place within 120 days, or they will send the contest out to purse bids
